Patoleo is a very famous sweet dish in Goa. It is mostly made on 24 th of June (Feast of St John the Baptist) Filling in the patoleo is made of freshly grated coconut and Jaggery.Here you'll can add the Jaggery of your choice.
In Mumbai patoleos are made on 15 th of August.
For the batter :3 cups goan rice. Washed and soaked overnight. Then grind and add salt to taste.
Ingredients required for the filling :2 cups of freshly grated coconut
1/2 cup palm Jaggery
1/2 cup sugarcane Jaggery
1 1/2 tbsp jaifal powder
mix and cook till jagerry melts.
Apply thin layer of rice batter on turmeric leaves put the filling and close. Steam for 20 minutes and it's ready.
