its a permanent trap, so we don't want to see multiple copies of it in our hand, but surely one can make the argument for including a second copy of it

you can still apply some concepts of these decks in the edition format, personally what I would like would to see him try these retro decks on Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour with a Nitendo DS emulator such as DeSmuME

I have not dived into Edison format at all, I have to admit. I'll consider looking into it in the far future. I cannot commit myself to more than giving you this statement🙁
