thank you Sean. The boat is easy to build and she sails very well. You can find the project on Michael Storer website.

well done & nice boat! The main thing is to see it through to completion...right?

That's right. 10 months of building compressed in few minutes!

Enrico! That was a great tip about slowing down the video! I didn't know we could do that. I soon realized that it also slows down the music, so I had to turn the sound off. Hahaha. Hey, this was a terrific video. I really enjoyed it. What a nice time you and your family must have had working on this project. Take care. Dustin Morrison. Southern California.

Hi Dustin, yes, that months of building have been a lot of fun for all my family. But what a mess in the house! :-D If you were interested, know there are some nice Goats (Goat Islans Skiffs) built and sailed in California too!

Hello. Very nice build. I am starting my build this winter so nice to see all the great pictures from you project. Best regards Norway.

Hello Norway! Thank you, I really enjoyed my building. If you are going to build the same kind of boat, you will get a lot of support by joining the Facebook group named "Goat Islad Skiff". All builders are there and so the designer Michael Storer. There are also a couple of guys from Norway who have built it. Good luck with your building! Enrico

Well done, it’s a beautiful Boat! I will build one myself too, the building plans are already in my possession 😊 Did you buy your materials as a kit or acquire them from everywhere?
@EnricoFranconiPolisportiva5 жыл бұрын
Hi Helifan1, no kit but raw materials bought mainly at DIY stores. She's a great little boat. You will be satisfied! Thanks for the visit.

Enrico, do you know how many hours it took to build your Goat Island Skiff. I am thinking about building one.
@EnricoFranconiPolisportiva6 жыл бұрын
Hi sir, unfortunately I haven't counted my working hours. But I can say I have worked for 9 months: all the weekends (2 full days) plus 1-2 hours every day during the week (in the evening, after my work). Consider I have wasted a lot of hours in finding the right timber in the local shops. This was my first boatbuilding, so, having no experience (example, I didn't know how to use epoxy), I was very careful and very slow in my work. Consider the project is extremely well designed and explained. The structure of the hull is very simple. There is an open group of builders on facebook called "Goat Island Skiff" which is extremely helpful once you are registered: facebook.com/groups/GoatIslandSkiff/ Consider it. Good luck for the project!

Hi, would you like to share the boat's plans? I am from Brazil and the values that they charge are unfeasible for us. thank you very much.
@EnricoFranconiPolisportiva5 жыл бұрын
Hi Marcos, sorry I cannot do that. I am friend to the designer and, as all of us, he needs to get some money to live too! Anyway consider that I paid for the plans about 70€ (=100 australian$) and the cost of my GIS at the end (after 10 months building) was about 3000€ (it includes: plans, plywood, solid wood, epoxy, sail, ropes and some gear, all bought in Italy). So the plans are about 2,3 % of the total cost.

Nice build but the slides are a zillion mph. Much better if they were slowed long enough to see some detail.
@EnricoFranconiPolisportiva7 жыл бұрын
Hi Chuck, you are right! But my intention was to create something not too boring.. If you need to slow down for better understanding you can clic on the bottom-right of the video and select 0.5 speed or even 0,25. It works well!
