'GOAT' Meryl Streep Boasts During Nicole Kidman Award Presentation

I think Meryl can pull off that "egotistical" skit majorly because she's anything but that. Let's not forget that story about how her costars on the set of Don't Look Up were calling her the GOAT, and she legit thought they were calling her a goat, and until they clarified her on what it meant, she never took offense. You watch Meryl enough times, and you can just get the impression that she has none of that arrogant diva-like attitude you'd expect an actress/celebrity of her calibre to have. I watched this entire speech on Tiktok, and after also watching her tribute to Viola Davis when Viola was awarded last year, I think, I've come to realise what an entertainment Meryl Streep is when she's honoring her peers.

RIGHT!! Meryl is an underrated comedian tbh. Everyone knows she's one of the greatest actors of all time but people forget she has a natural sense of humor and charm and charisma. She's so hilarious and charismatic whenever she's at an award show or red carpet or behind of the scenes of a move like the Mamma Mia outtakes. I've seen compilations of her funny moments and they never fail to make me laugh 😂

Meryl is gracious and humble and sweet, you can always tell if she's joking when she does the Miranda Priestly mannerisms. People tend to forget how naturally funny she is. Nicole must've been floored and honored to have her idol and friend present the award to her.

I've never seen a roll Meryl Streep couldn't pass off even August Osage county which a lot of people did not like I thought she was terrific as a villain and I know women like that in my own family, even worse so it wasn't over the top I'm afraid. I don't think Meryl Streep has a peer.

Meryl is a goddess. She can do no wrong. She has the perfect sense of timing, a sense of humor, and a sense to put others up on a platform when they are deserving of it. Her delivery is usually in sync to some type of character that she has done in the past and she always nails it! She’s the best!

Meryl Streep is a class act. And because of her long, long, illustrious career and the high esteem in which many, many actors hold her, she is the ideal person to present an award to a peer. And she can do it in a way that is funny, or enlightening. It must be a joy to work with her. It would seem so, going by Nicole Kidman's comments. It is obvious that Ms. Kidman was overwhelmed to be receiving recognition from a fellow actor as esteemed as Streep. But the greatest thing is the mutual admiration society that these two superlative actors have for each other.

I am a Nicole Kidman fan, and I am glad she is an Oscar winner. However, here is my objective point of view. The acting range is debatable. She sometimes comes across too stiff when she is on screen. Nevertheless, I've always respected her for taking risks with her film roles. In my humble opinion, any comparison to Merly Streep is far-fetched. There are many contemporary actresses who have a stronger acting range, 3 of them are from Nicole's home country: Naomi Watts, Margot Robbie and of course Cate Blanchett.

If Nicole is stiff, then Meryl is too mannered and Cate is too fussy. Anyone has her limitation. I think the issue is about which performer gives you a better sense of depth.
