I’ve made soap using canned pumpkin but it looks oh so fresh starting with the whole pumpkin! & the addition of goats milk probably makes for a nice, creamy bar. Great job as always!

Question: How do you prevent the goat milk and pumpkin puree from going rancid in the soap?
@CocoRenaee
@CocoRenaee 8 ай бұрын
If im not mistaken she uses citric acid for that reason

The high pH and low moisture environment acts as a preservative, citric acid helps too.

Is the soap gelled?? Why do u suggest to keep it cool after pouring?? Is it to prevent overheating??
@tellervo.
@tellervo. 8 ай бұрын
The soap did not go through gel phase. I preferred the look of the ungelled soap when i made it for my guide, but it's just a suggestion and you can do whatever you want☺️ but yes there is a risk of overheating when there's milk and pumpkin in the mixture.

@tellervo.

In this video I used all of the oils I prepared. I had a lot of leftover pumpkin so I made a pumpkin pie. When I make oil infusions I use a little more oil than my recipe calls for to ensure that I have enough, since there is always some oil that is stuck in the infusion material. I'd rather have a little bit extra than not enough, but it's difficult to estimate the exact amount.

I prefer to not use sunflower oil because it goes rancid easily. I choose the oils I use based on their fatty acid profiles. After years of making soap I have found my favorites but I do like to switch it up sometimes
