@@joyaghosh2940 I think it’s mostly a personal preference so it depends on what you like! Hot process soap is more gentle to the fragrance so you might need less and you don’t have to worry about acceleration. Hot process can also cut down on cure time (but the soap gets much better as it hardens during the cure)

Alot of people have invested in a crockpot just to make hot process soap and it is really just a convenience. As long as your soap gel during this process.

Hello I’ve been soaping for quite a while and love doing hot process the best however I never heard of using Citric acid before. I like that you explained the chemistry behind it. my experience started out with wondering what frankincense and myrrh smelled like. so i bought some on line. and then started making little 3 gram perfume solids. then saw a tutorial on soap making and glycerin soap melt and pour. so i bought some melt and pour and put some essential oils in. and had wanted to mmake my own homemade soap for about six years. then i was finally able to make my own homemade soap. and recently ive tried making my own type of melt and pour. its still a work in progress. but im getting it. i love the easy hot process that you have demonstrated. its not as hard as i thought. ive been wanting to do hot process so when i put the essential oils in they should last longer. cause i cook the soap. excited to try this one type. thank you

Love your style and sense for nature and beauty. Could you please do a liquid soap video? Been trying to get the courage to do a large patch of liquid soap for dishes and hands but had some inertia from what looks like complicated hard work. Lol I’m sure you will have an easy efficient way to do it. Thinking about using your stove stop double boiler method to make the liquid soap. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks :) You do need pretty specific oils and ingredients for transparent soap. I haven't tried it yet but I did purchase a recipe from the soap challenge club and it seemed great.

Cold process and hot process recipes are similar, you just need more water for hot process. And the process is very similar except hot process soap is cooked :)

The biggest difference is you need to cure cold process soap (usually 4-6 weeks) so you can't use the soap immediately. However, hot process soap is already done the chemical reaction while the cooking, you can use the soap as soon as it hardened(mostly next day or 2 sometime longer depends on recipe)

Hot process goes through saponification faster because of the heat and is usually ready to cut quickly. Both cold process and hot process soaps need the same amount of curing. i.e 4-6 weeks

@@SuffuseSoaps That’s up for a debate and many disagree that HP and CP cure the same way because they really don’t. HP one just gets more benefit by not dissolving as fast as the next day HP version, but CP won’t even bubble up really well the same way after two weeks the way HP soaps do. They’re not the same.

@@SuffuseSoaps then why go through the bother with the process of HP if it still needs to cure 4-6 weeks? Literally nobody I know waits 4-6 weeks on there HP soap, it's on the shelf in 48-72 hours. The benefits of the extra exertion is a faster production to sales ratio. Storage costs money, as in time, space.

Wow ! Just made this ! My first HP. I didnt have any spinach , so I tried making nettle tea and used it with lye and used eucalyptus es. oil for fragrance and added 1 tsp of yogurt after cook . Cooking took maybe 30 minutes ? Tested little piece - beautiful lather . Thank you !

Thank you! You don't really have to check it that much, I just wanted to show you my temperatures. I like to try to keep it around 70 degrees celsius while the soap is cooking

I don't really recommend cold process soap for hair. It's not possible to lower pH in handmade soap
