The best way to manage your goat herd, and prevent unwanted goatlet population explosion, is to keep Mario separated. Blue is coming into her post partum heat soon and Mario will breed her back if he can get to her. Put two fences between them and put Luigi in with him for company. A single fence will not stop him.

In the real world🙄, baby goats are not usually separated from the rest of the herd. The mama will keep her babies safe (when necessary). Just let them all run free in the pen, minus the intact male.

Everyone is doing so well. I love the bigger "nursery" space. You can put Blue and the boys in with Mama in that larger space. Use the other pen as a weaning pen. I'm not sure if anyone told you, but I recently learned that the lump on Mama's left side is her stomach sticking out. So, the baby(ies) will stick out more on the right. Can't wait to see the beautiful colors of the her offspring. Love ya all! 🙂

Kyle and Shannon, it is always so enjoyable to watch your videos. I liked seeing the young tom turkey puffing out his feathers and tail like an adult tom turkey. Spruce was more interested in the food he could eat in the nursery than he was with Harry and Larry, the Blues Brothers. I am sure as the goatlets grow and get a bit bigger, that Spruce will have more interest in them. Herc is well on protection duty for the goatlets! It's good you are underway with a nursery being built for Mama. I think she will have twins, too. Possibly triplets, but I think it will be twins. Mario and Luigi are doing well, too, and that is always good to see. Best wishes to you all there at Shady Acres!
