"He's addicted to greatest, he's addicted to being the best that's ever played the game." Wow. Tiger's father is SO INSPIRATIONAL, look at his SON! Tiger Woods has my respect for so many reasons, how amazing that this entire thing is documented since age 2 up to now, his recent win in the Masters and President's cup after the fall from grace. Here reality is greater than fiction.

Its about the same time they went to Hawaii and Tiger and his pops played a practice round at Leilehua GC where my dads Army buds were in the club there. He came home one day and all he talked about was how amazing this kid named Tiger Woods was that they walked along and followed on the front nine. I remember him saying that day, " This kid was amazing, man could he hit the ball". I said, " Really dad he was that good?" He said, " this kids gonna break records you watch". Well I guess my dad was right.

This is awesome! I played against Tiger in High School and saw them filming this. I went to Sunny Hills HS, but we both had Los Coyotes (shown in this video) as our home course. It was quite humbling to play against him even then!

i don't even like golf, and all i can say is: Woods is the best of all time. don't care about his personal life...none of my business. he singlehandedly made golf interesting even for non-players, and he showed the world that golf is anything but a white man's game.

Well technically it was and still is mostly a white man’s game because it was created and sustained by white men. Doesn’t mean it’s ONLY for white men. That’s like saying rap and hip-hop are anything but black culture lmao. See how well that goes over. People can adopt things but it can still be attribute to certain groups or cultures from particular peoples.

This is why I appreciate Tiger way more than Michelle Wie. When she was still attending Punahou, she didn't play golf for the school. She didn't play for Stanford either. Tiger played at every level he could get his hands on - including high school and college golf.
@llojsan4 жыл бұрын
She was not eligible to play for Stanford as NCAA rules don't permit professional players, only amateurs are allowed to play. Tiger didn't turn pro until August 1996, after he had already completed his 2nd year at Stanford. Don't know about HS rules but I do know Wie turned pro when she was 16 so maybe she wasn't allowed to play or maybe it just didn't make sense for her to do so.
@yuppiehi4 жыл бұрын
@@llojsan Not being able to play amateur golf is not a cause, it is an effect. That was Michelle's choice to forgo her amateur status by signing with Nike that early. That just supports my original statement even more. Tiger and his dad knew that competing in amateur golf would prepare him much better than going straight into the PGA Tour. Many of Michelle's mistakes IMO were a result of going right into the pro's.
@llojsan4 жыл бұрын
@@yuppiehi Yes, that's true! And as a player she would most likely have been better off had she waited to turn pro. With the hype surrounding her at the time I never would have guessed it would take 9 years...But blame her camp, she was just a kid who thought she was ready.
