Dave,, I thought I would say something definitely positive about how you handled this hunt.From start to finish you let the bird set his pace and you stayed patient.Persistance and going with this turkey got him killed.That is a skill few ever master,,some never but on this occasion You show signs of Genius.Congrats.

Just an incredible hunt, or series of hunts, Dave. Thank you for what you're doing. You really approach things on the bird's terms, and there's a lot of us out here who genuinely appreciate that. ATV’s have done a lot more bad for hunting than they’ve done good. Lead to mostly lazy hunters and ruin a lot of good hunts. Only advantage is they help keep some gobblers alive for next season.
@Thesac449 ай бұрын
Depending where you’re hunting at. If your on public land down in eastern Kentucky up in the mountain on some old strip mine you need a vehicle to get you up to the top. That’s what I do scout the day before and park a little ways away from where I saw sign.
@ghghamrick9 ай бұрын
@@Thesac44 I hunt strip line land. You don’t have to use ATV’s to get to the top. Is it a hard walk,sure, but it isn’t needed. Personally wish they were by permit only for medical needs/seniors who need them.
@Thesac449 ай бұрын
Well if that’s how you choose to do it. To each their own.
@TheLikkinBranchRanch9 ай бұрын
Shotguns, bows, and rifles must create lazy hunters too, then, aye? Why not use a rock or throw a stick by hand. How about you leave your vehicle home and walk to the area you hunt? How about you stop being critical of other hunters and embrace the fact they they hunt and are helping to keep our way of life going? Um...yeah....
@ghghamrick9 ай бұрын
@@TheLikkinBranchRanch didn’t say they’re all bad. They do create opportunities for disabled and the elderly. Just don’t see how an able bodied person riding ATV’s though the forest and messing up other hunters hunts is something that shouldn’t be looked at as lazy. I also don’t see how comparing riding my vehicle to a designated parking area is comparable to what the two individuals in the video did. Totally apples to oranges.

Those ATV boys remind me of this joker I listened to once, driving up a side of a valley in a 7.3 powerstroke. He'd stop at a pullout shut down, slam the door, yelp down the valley, slam the door start up and rattle his way to the next pullout. Done this for good half hour. I laughed and laughed the whole time.

Getting mad at other hunters for hunting a different way than you is not what hunting is about. I understand it’s frustrating and you were upset but they have that right on public land. I myself use a bicycle to run strip mine and forest service land but every man has a right to hunt their own way. A very very rare bad take by the turkey king himself.
