1:11 - The night before opening day here in PA last season, a friend and I drove separately to our spot, leaving two cars parked to make it clear that there were two people hunting. We camped on the large piece of public to be sure we were the first ones there. In the morning, a pair of guys came walking down the road and would have walked right by me without saying a word until I stopped him to ask what their plan was. When I asked, one of them said "my plan is to hear a turkey and when I do we're going after him" ... He then said there were about 7 guys in the power line down below.. I assume he was exaggerating to get me to leave but needless to say, PA turkey hunters do not seem to defer to others when they arrive second (or seventh) to a trailhead. I cannot imagine wanting to stay at a spot where I would have to compete with that many other guys. If I see trucks, I'm moving along even if it's a fairly large piece of land.

Was there any issue with having the stock cut since the inertia has the recoil spring in the stock? I was thinking of getting a shorter stock but the manufacturer of my inertia gun said it could not be changed out due to the tube/spring in the stock.

You can shorten it. You just can't shorten more than the inertia tube. I've since found it easier to just order the compact M2 stock and replace it.

@pinhotiproject appreciate that, I was hoping to be able to just get a replacement stock instead of cutting the existing one, since cutting it would void my lifetime warranty. Edit: I see what you mean now, benelli has replacement stocks. I have a weatherby and they don't have replacement stocks. I'll have to check with a gunsmith and see if there are other options that would be compatible with my gun, I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject, not sure if the tube dimensions vary between different manufacturers.

Whats a better feeling a bign like that or walking up grabbing a tom ? Turkey hunting will always be my favorite buuuuttt grabbing a set of horns like that has alittle different feel , to me ! Id still choose turkeys over deer cause its just more fun period but theres nothing like a big buck you been after
