Those illustrations are absolutely breathtaking. After a lot of research, the illustrators names is william Francis Phillips, but there is no information about this artist at all.

Aw man, I haven't thought about this for something like 35 years. But those illustrations... they had such an impact on me in my childhood. What is this actually from? I have vague memories of there being a series of audio books like this that had a variety of children's stories in each one, but I can't remember anything about them. I'd love to see if I could find complete copies somewhere.
