Goblin Valley Moto Camping Trip - Honda CRF 250L - KLR 650

This is our first ever moto camping trip! I test the limits of the Honda CRF 250L on this 450 mile camping trip.

Yeah I had a nice bullet proof & doohhicky done KLRB650, but I prefer to do as much off-roading as possible and the KLR is so heavy. It had great armor so even though I dropped it many it has zero problems. Still I sold it and bought a KLX250 and love how much better it is off-road! I now go so many places that the KLR was too big to go on. Enjoy your CRF!👍

I agree the smaller bikes are really great to really explore the off road areas. If I had a group of friends with dual sport 250s that would be so much fun! It’s just hard when you ride with people with different bike capabilities. Thanks for watching, enjoy the KLX!

@@RCoperator Yup, the street legal dirt bikes aren't for long distance trips. You almost need 2 types of bikes. The important thing is that whatever you use, just enjoy it!

My cousin and I did a few camping moto trips several years back now, He had that same color scheme KLR, I always thought it was one of the best colors KLR had. AT that time, I was on a DRZ, and same as you, gas was always an issue, and had to carry a Roto Pack Fuel Cell with me everywhere. Since you mentioned the wind, the KLR does have a lot more protection on the ride a long way to get to dirt trips. I have never tried the electric gloves, might be worth looking into I know my hands have been that cold on some spring trips. Yeah… if I do long trips like this I need a different bike for sure, it was pretty miserable. The 250l would be best exploring mountains and avoiding the highway. Although as I proved in this video, it can handle the highway fully loaded down, it’s just not very comfortable and your full throttle the whole time haha. I’m sure I’ll have some different bikes in the future. I’ve heard the DRZ is a fun bike! Thanks for the sub!

Regarding the KLR color scheme, I agree, it's my favorite KLR color.

Get yourself a 4 season motorcycle jacket and pants it's a game changer I don't ever want to ride without it and helps when you eat shit off the trail it works for me all the way to freezing temperatures

I sold the 250 and got an all dirt bike, I miss the dual sport though! I’ll probably get another some day.

Thanks for posting...I was looking for an adventure bike to do what you are doing, but after watching your video I am going to use my DRZ400 with a spare gas tank. I always believe that bringing a chair is a requirement, otherwise I like your camping set-up.

Beautiful scenery! Making me jealous. Lol. I love adventure camping and definitely don't do it enough. I've had my klr in some crazy places. Definitely a tank but a very reliable tank. Lol. In fact mine has been as reliable as a hammer!!!

@@RCoperator and I wouldn't mind having a smaller bike in the fleet like a crf 250l. Lol the klr is a tank of a bike. But I guess after 9 years I'm sorta used to it. Really miss my Honda cr250 2 stroke. I'm 56 years old going on 28 but the body doesn't heal as fast so trying to stay away from a pure dirt bike! Lmao

The 250l is a really fun bike!! You should definitely do some moto camping. Don’t make it a super far one like I did in this video… it can do it but it sucked pretty bad on the highway. I didn’t really feel safe lol.
