I loved that line too. That's going to be my personal mantra now for a while. I know it will take a while to actually slow down. It's the same for all of us I suppose. I noticed that when you were telling yourself to stop and smell the roses, you left the bike running :)

Hey Critter. New subscriber here but have been lurking. I live in Duncan and have a 2018 CRF250L and a V Strom. I followed your exact route at the end of Juneuary and did a 5 state tour except on the V Strom. 2 weeks and camped except for 2 nights. Looking forward to part 2. Was impressed with US camping.

I've been looking forward to this series man. Seeing all the instagram posts from the trip, I know how great it was for you. Very excellent campsite too. I need to get to making some more fire starters. Tried to make a fire for a party last weekend and everything was so damp. I'll have to check out those ones from Bigfoot. Cheers.

@Crittermoto

I’m always planning 🤣 Next year I’d like to hit GL weekend again and then from there go ride the new Oregon BDR and in my way back home hit the Washington BDR. Hopefully I can make that happen. The Continental Divide has been on my planning list for years now as well. As too, a cross Canada trip.

It looks that way but it ain’t. Just a sleeping bag that doesn’t pack down too small. The smaller bag on top housed my iPad and books. One of these days I’ll do a complete breakdown video list of what all I took for 21 days. Thanks for the watching!

The ferry ride is around 90min. The best thing about it is the “time travel”. It’s like stepping back into the 50s. They even have Bing Crosby singing in the announcements, it’s awesome!
