As a Solution Architect in the security space, would you recommend CCSP first (since it seems a lot more relevant to Cloud Security), or CISSP for the market value?
@GoCloudArchitects4 күн бұрын
I recommend CISSP and teach it to our architects. The CCSP is very basic. It’s a good supplement to the CISSP but the CCSP is no where close to enough on its own.

Microsoft SC100, AWS Security and GCP Security Engineer give more knowledge to secure the cloud than CCSP.

I just started studying for this. It is intimidating in its scope, but it really helps to pull everything that I have learned so far together. I just get tripped up by some of the terminology being inconsistent with what I have encountered in the past. Any chance that you will be releasing a bootcamp on this one soon?

I like to say anything worth doing is a bit intimidated. That’s why this exam is so powerful. Most won’t attempt it due to its scope. So when you pass the exam you stand out. We do a tremendous number of free certifications on this channel. We have another one coming soon too in security. But we keep the CISSP inside of our paid architecture programs. It’s one of the many things we do to make sure our students have a major competitive advantage over others in the industry

Being part of this program at Go Cloud makes it more exciting to go ahead and take this cert. I've been going through the cissp content, and it's not fare from what we do in the program. I'm so happy I've joined this.

What's your take on the CISM certification?
@GoCloudArchitects2 күн бұрын
I like the CISM. I think it’s an excellent certification for Security architects and security managers I’m actually teaching a free CISM Boot Camp on this KZbin channel at the end of the month Here is the link if you would like to join. www.gocloudarchitects.com/cism-bootcamp-2025/

I studied for the exam, it does not give me practical skills needed on my job as a Cloud Security Engineer. Certs like Microsoft SC100, AWS Security, OSCP for Penetration Testers are more applicable on the job

I understand your perspective. This is not a hands on certification. It’s an architecture and executive certification and architects and executives - and we don’t touch the technology This exam is not meant for hands on technician work. It’s meant for tech strategy. Now I have seen this be a major help to security engineers. Especially, the higher paid engineers who are less hands on and more planners. But this is not an exam that teaches how to do the junior engineering work of configuration etc. There are lots of technician certifications like the AWS advanced security for hands on security admin people. If that type of admin work is what someone desires then hands on certifications are great. But if one is looking for the higher paying architect roles which is our specialty then they will need to know the security concepts and business aspects not how to configure etc. Which is why CIOs, CISOs and security architects love this certification.

High level. But no real world skills from this cert imo.
@GoCloudArchitects5 күн бұрын
That is a fair observation. CISSP isn’t designed to teach real world technical skills. It is more about understanding cybersecurity principles and practices at a strategic level. Besides that, it is often seen as a stepping stone to leadership roles rather than a purely technical certification.
