1:10 What is the difference between a region, an availability zone, an edge location and a local zone? 3:11 What is IAM? 3:57 What is an 802.1Q-? 6:14 What is a content delivery network? 9:09 What is the process to take a web server and make it publicly available on the internet if you are inside of the AWS cloud? 10:51 What is the optimal subnet size for a point-to-point WAN link?

Great lessons. IAM could be explained as Who, What, Where

Fantastic Mike! Can't appreciate you enough on how you explain each concept - applause worthy! I mainly come from OCI background and recently did my AWS Architect certification (though your link!). Even for OCI since its so similar to AWS the concepts holds good! Fantastic Mike!

Thank you so much. The clouds are really so similar. Thankfully it makes it easy to go back and forth between them.

I have question regarding CDN. CDN associated with only static content right? Like a HTML File, Audio Files, Video Files Etc where user can access these file from their nearest location Can CDN be also be applicable for dynamic content? For example Status of Air Craft being watched from India when it is flying in USA and assume that the data center in USA As per my understanding, for dynamic content there is no concept of CDN right? In this example the data should come from the DB server from USA . Basically wherever you watch in the world , the status of the flight across the world it has to come from USA .

You can cache static and dynamic content on a CDN. This document from Cloud Flare explains how dynamic content can be cached on a CDN. www.cloudflare.com/learning/cdn/caching-static-and-dynamic-content/#

@GoCloudArchitects but this is not near real.time right If we have database and microservixe than needed to deployed in edge correct?
@satish10128 ай бұрын
Lets us take simple example You have Micro Service and MySQL and DB in USA region. The data in the MySQL DB is live data Lets Say We are watching from INDIA. The browser in india is directed to Micro Service in India , then It should pick the data from the from nearest DB which is india. But this data should be update from USA DB. My point is there will be latency in updating the data.

Nice video, although the request doesn't immediately go to the origin when the content in not in the edge location, it checks the regional edge cache first.

ElPenetrator, Great job! 👏. You are absolutely correct. It was an oversight. I remember back in late 2016 and early 2017 when AWS added functionality. Thanks for watching closely.

The minimum subnet CIDR block is /28, How can you make a CIDR block /30 on AWS? Thanks,
@GoCloudArchitects2 жыл бұрын
We were discussing a WAN link to AWS not a subnet in AWS or Point to point wan links. They are what enable everything including what AWS would use to build their cloud

Hello Sir, Great content and very useful for preparing for an interview. I think that 5 IPs in every subnet CIDR block are reserved (4 in the beginning and 1 at the end). So I am wondering if the correct answer is /29 giving me 3 IPs (total of 8 - 5 reserved) rather than /30. Thanks again for your informational videos. They are awesome. Please keep them coming.
@GoCloudArchitects3 жыл бұрын
Hi - The smallest subnet your can use with AWS in your VPC is a /28. And yes inside your VPC AWS reserves the first four IP addresses and the last (broadcast) address of the subnet. But /30s are use for WAN links in general. Also in general /24s are typically used for LAN subnets AWS uses a /30 for WAN links as so most networks in the world. It’s also contained in the document below. aws.amazon.com/directconnect/faqs/

Is it possible to send you my resume? I have about 22+ years experience working with Oracle technologies. I can understand pretty much all concepts of cloud but obviously don't know all the nuances that I am seeking to understand via a job. It will be a pleasure working with you.

What should be answered when they ask you about CIDR and its usage?
@GoCloudArchitects3 жыл бұрын
Hi Harshal, I’m not sure the context of the question. Since subnetting and classless inter domain routing are really about breaking class full networks into smaller subjects to maximize address space and routing efficiency. But I can do this. I can make a new video next week either explaining basic networking next week or some cloud architect network questions At some point I will make more network content too.
