One of your best videos, summarizes all we need to do to be a Cloud Architect. It is rare to find all we need and how all things connect in a single video. I have 8 years of .NET development experience and then 3 years of Data Engineer + Tech Lead experience on AWS and now working as a Cloud Architect for last 2 years. So total of 13+ years in IT. Now as a Cloud Architect, I always feel lack of Network and Data center knowledge. If I see the certificates you mentioned for Networking, it mentions about 3-5 years of hands-on experience in that field. I can't work on networking now but want to understand it for my Cloud Architect career. How do I get started in networking with this background?
@GoCloudArchitects Жыл бұрын
To learn networking you can read the Internet engineering task force RFCs, get training from Cisco or Juniper networks or you could take our training. We focus heavy on the network and datacenter as without this knowledge it’s hard to design a high availability mission critical Those certifications require no experience regardless of what’s on the website. I did the CCNP before I ever worked in networking. I was also a CCIE within 6 months of the time I started networking.

Hi Mike, i'm currently studying for CISSP and i'm interested in pursuing a career as a Cloud Security Architect. Now, i have a question; between SABSA and TOGAF security architecture certification, which one would you recommend and why ?
@GoCloudArchitects3 жыл бұрын
@@pkabuchi Hi Patrick. Since you said cloud security architect I would start with the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional and mix that with the CSA-P. That will cover cloud and security. I would focus my efforts on executive presence training, emotional intelligence training, business acumen, and developing competency. That's far more important then a SABSA or a TOGAF certification

Good morning Mike great content this is what I'm been looking for from last 1yr since I heard about rising cloud jobs Few questions You do lot of stuff for free on this channel so what's the difference between this and classes you offwr with some fee$? What's the guarantee if we take your $$$ classes like job wise / satisfaction guaranteed / support / resume or job placement? Fyi I am 40yr old in retail industry from last 18yrs I am in Canada Your honest and trustworthy input would be greatly appreciated Great job Mike thank you for all you do
@GoCloudArchitects2 жыл бұрын
Hi. There is a major difference between what we offer free Vs what we do with paid classes. In our paid programs we teach our students how to be cloud architects. We don’t do that on KZbin. Our students get hired every day, get career guidance and get live instruction with live feedback and coaching. Now we cannot guarantee you come to class, do the work or follow our methods as such we cannot guarantee your success. But you can look at any of the many examples of people we got hired on our KZbin channel. And if you to make the determination of spending 1000 dollars for training to get a job that pays between 120-287k is worth the expense. It’s a pretty simple return on investment capital model 😊

Difference between CCNA and CCNP is a light-year. To pass CCNP you would study for a year at least without guarantee that you will pass it.
@GoCloudArchitects2 жыл бұрын
Well it’s up to the person. I passed the CCNP 20 years ago in 10 days. I also passed the CCIE back when it was a two day exam in less then 6 months. My number is 7417 Then again I studied 16 hours per day 7 days per week. Nothing is impossible - it’s how hard to are willing to work. They didn’t have practice exams back then for the CCIE.

Thank you for the informative video. I would like to know what's about the architecture frameworks? Like Togaf? Is that not needed to get an architect job?
@GoCloudArchitects2 жыл бұрын
Most architects are not togaf certified. Personally I built my career by taking togaf architectures that no one understood and translated them in the actual architectures Architecture careers are not about frameworks, they are about digital transformation for our customers So this is much more a career that requires business acumen, leadership skills, leadership, CXO relevancy, and system design skills. This is not a career that’s built on certifications

Hi Mike! Another great video with amazing advice. Just one question security-wise, you often mention CISSP cert in regard to cloud security, what are your thoughts about CCSP which is cloud-specific cert by ISC2? Thanks a lot again for all of the advice you provide.
@GoCloudArchitects3 жыл бұрын
Hi Pnu, Thank you. We strongly prefer the CISSP and CEH. The other certifications just don’t hold the value to get hired and really progress in your career.
@pyniuCK3 жыл бұрын
@@GoCloudArchitects thanks for your reply, CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) is cert by ISC2 as is CISSP.. so while that cert is Cloud specific... does it hold value? CISSP is just general security cert. would not be good idea to get CCSP cert, won't that provide cloud specific security knowledge?q
@GoCloudArchitects3 жыл бұрын
@@pyniuCK I recommend only the CISSP or CEH. The goals of a certification is to get you more opportunity or raise your salary. These are the only two along with the offensive security professional. If you do the CCSP you will still need to do the CISSP air CEH after as the CCSP isn’t enough. So focus on what matter the CISSP air the CEH. See every day you spend on certs that don’t help cost you 600 dollars is lost wages. As the average cloud architect or cloud security architect earns 600 dollar per day. So get the ones that matter and nothing else. If you want to do more focus on other big certifications Like CCIE did networking Togaf for architecture Ones that build your career

Hi Mike, congratulation for this video. Really very good. What are the chances of a 45-year-old professional with deep experience only on- premises environment getting a job as cloud architect?

Ricardo - with the right training and most of that training in business you could easily be hired as a cloud architect. We got a 61 year old their first cloud architect job a few weeks ago. Here is an example of someone who never worked in tech who didn’t even finish high school who we trained and helped get hired as a cloud architect. He worked very hard and is smart but shows anyone can be an architect. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIDGdJpjhLyfnqs My background was internal medicne and started my architecture about 25 years ago.
