There is no going back. We have to push through our nihilism and hope there is something on the other side. Religion is dead. Its over. We are left with nothing but ruins. Now, lets see what we can build up... That should be our focus.

@@acolytes777 Secularisation is in many ways a product of affluence: most countries in the world are in fact not secularised, and given the limits to growth which are all too apparent today, will probably never be. The West will certainly experience decline in this century. This will not necessarily reverse the process of secularisation in the short term, but I believe it will halt it.

People are always on about bringing the church back to what it originally was. What it originally was was a tiny group persecuted by the biggest empire of the day. No thanks! Nostalgia is such cherry picking.
