As I celebrate Christmas, and not Hanukkah, I wasn't really aware of anything regarding Hanukkah, so it was rather nice to learn so many things about it. For one, I was able to learn the origin of it, which was rather fascinating as I had been completely oblivious before this. On top of that, I was able to learn about some of the activities regarding Hanukkah, that I had not been aware of before hand.

In this video I learned that Hanukkah is also called the festival of lights. I also learned the history behind Hanukkah. Also I learned that Hanukkah means dedication.
@yashgupta54264 жыл бұрын
From this video alone, I have learned quite a bit more about Hanukkah known as the Jewish Festival of Lights. Coming from an Indian background, as Hindus, we have a similar tradition known as Diwali which again translates to the Festival of Lights. So, it was fairly intriguing to find some sort of correlation among the various religions. Hanukkah, Hebrew for dedication, is a holiday and the time of the year in where the Jewish are to celebrate their families along with their faith by gathering every winter to light a menorah of 8 candles. It represents three components including a time for reflection on the strength and spirituality resole of the Jewish people, a celebration of triumph over religious persecution, and a miracle that kept the Menorah lit for 8 nights. Heading back into history, in attempt to outlaw Judaism, the Judean people were forced to worship Greek gods which then revolted in a battle among the vast Syrian army. Due to improbable odds with over a battle that raged for three years, the Jewish upraising lead by Judea Maccabee emerged victorious and liberated the holy temple. As a result, the Menorah was lit with the small flask of oil which was supposedly only to be lasted for a day, however, it continuously burned until 8 night passed. Therefore, the flames of the Menorah is a potent symbol of the Jews indominable faith. Today, in celebration, children play with a dreidel, a symbol of when the Jewish secretly gathered to study to Torah, along with the elders who gave sums of money or presents as a customary to exchange gifts on one or all of the 8 nights.

@yashgupta5426 The Ancient Greek Pagans(worshippers of Zeus) where tolerant with every other religions, and never forced anyone to worship Zeus, cause that is against the vows of Zeus to convert anyone to Hellenism. To be a Hellenist(worshipper of Zeus), you have to be either born one, or convert into one by choice, it is against Zeus to convert people to worship him by force. It was not the Ancient Greeks who force others to worship Zeus, but the Maccabeeans who force others to worship Yahweh, the other way, around. The Maccabeeans slaughtered millions of Arab Syrian, Canaanite, and Edomite men, women, and children's, who did not convert to Judaism. Do you not know, that their book calls for the killings of Idol worshippers, in Deuteronomy 17:2-5, 1st Kings 18:40, and Ezekiel 9:6, in their Miqra? That includes you Hindus, since you are polytheist, who have idols. They believe that polytheist should be put to death during the Sanhedrin. The Miqra is far more bloodier, and worst than the Quran. They are pushing the Noahide Laws, which forbids worshipping idols, or any gods beside Yahweh. You Hindus are siding with those Anti-Polytheist.

@rebekahsimon54265 жыл бұрын
Here is the transcript of the first 2 minutes and 40 seconds, if anyone is wanting to use it for a lesson. Every winter, Jewish families gather to light a branched candelabra called a Menorah. For eight nights, they celebrate their families, and celebrate their faith. The holiday is called Hanukkah, also known as the festival of lights. When we think of Hanukkah, we think of the Menorah. Its eight flames burn in testament to a glorious victory that took place over 2000 years ago. Around 200 BC, the Jewish people in Jerusalem were living under Egyptian rule, although they remained largely free to work in worship in accordance with their customs. Then, in 175 BC, Antiochus IV Epiphanes ascended to the Syrian throne, invaded Egypt, and desecrated Jerusalem. In an attempt to assimilate the Judean people, Antiochus forced them to worship Greek Gods and outlawed Judaism, banning all Jewish rituals upon threat of death. The ultimate insult came in 168 BC, when Antiochus seized the Jewish Holy Temple in Jerusalem and dedicated it to the worship of the Greek God Zeus. For a Jewish High Priest named Matathias, it was time to take a stand. Together with his five sons, Matathias sparked a revolt, pitting the desperate Jewish faithful against vastly superior Syrian armies. The battle raged for three years. Against improbable odds, the Jewish uprising, led by Matathias’ son Judah Macabee, emerged victorious. Judah Macabee and his small army of soldiers recaptured Jerusalem in 165 BC and liberated the Holy Temple. According to the Talmud, the Jewish high priests eagerly prepared to light the ceremonial menorah, the eternal flame which would rededicate the desecrated temple to the glory of God. But they found that the Syrians had defiled all but a small flask of oil. It was enough to light the Menorah but for a single night. Hours turned to days, and miraculously, the Menorah burned on, until eight nights had passed, and more oil could be produced. It was time for Hanukkah, Hebrew for dedication. Against all odds, the Menorah had not been extinguished, and so the flames of the branched Menorah are a potent symbol of the Jew’s indomitable faith.

@ShiningGalaxy01 Жыл бұрын
@codyfranck4685 That is absolutely not true at all, cause the Ancient Greek Pagans where tolerant with other religion. Judaism is not tolerant towards other religions, since their sacred book calls for the death of those who worship any other gods, besides Yahweh, in their sacred book. It is against the gods to convert people into believing, and worshipping them. Zeus doesn't demand everyone to worship him, or believe in him, that is Yahweh who does that. The History Channel never mention the fact, that Matthathias, and his son, Judah Maccabee, along with rest of his Hebrew armies, mass murdered millions of Pagan Greeks, Syrians, and Canaanites, who worship Zeus, and did not convert to Judaism. This is what Hanukkah is, a Genocidal holiday, like Purim, and Sukkot.

Just like we know the true Egyptians was Black and YAHUSHA hide amongst them, and HE could not have been " Middle Eastern" or "white" and hide amongst black Egyptian Africans. And what do you think the middle East is?? Middle East Africa. All those people occupying that land over there are from somewhere else and migrated there. But those caucasians in Jerusalem are khazars from the Caucasus Mountains of Georgia Russia. They was put in that land in 1948 by the united Nations and converted to Judaism. They are imposters and they will tell you themselves. They don't even believe in YAHUSHA (Jesus) and they will tell you that too. They are not supposed to be in that land and that's why they are getting skin cancer left and right because it is too hot in that land for none melanated people. They are even trying too go back to Russia but the united Nations will not let them because they know if people find out they are not the real Judah, then they going to want to know who is and then they will learn that it is the black man and woman scattered across the four corners of the Earth to the transatlantic slave trade which was prophesied to happen to them in the book of Deuteronomy 28:68. The events of Hanukkah happened after the Jews rebuilt the 2nd Temple, which was hundreds or so of years after the Torah was given.

What does ish mean? somewhat adverb Informal. (used to modify or moderate something previously stated or as a vague reply to a question) somewhat; in a way; not exactly: This program is a decent (ish) story about converts. “Are you a Jew?” “Yeah I'm Jewish", something like that

Read John 10-22 and the rest of the chapter. The Messiah did not go for the feast but to confront the Judeans, who then wanted to stone him. It is not sanctified by the Most High. The menorah is 7 and is sanctified by our Heavenly Father. So called Jews are in revelation.

A Mormon here? ;) What do you mean by so called Jews in revelation. You probably refer to the belief that we are not the Jewish people but the Mormons. Right?

Something I’ve never understood is people using their own Holy Book as evidence. Like, we don’t believe in it buddy :|

How, and why does the Menorah change from Original ancient Hebrew history of 7 to 9, or 10? This is crazy talk once we understand to follow the Bible as it is written and not just go long with man's imagination or interpretation of YAH WORD. Nowhere in the Bible (KJV), (Torah/Bible) is there an 8, 9, 10 ect Menorah. If you find so these particular Books mentioned, please share it here. ZECHARIAH 4:1-4
