On top of Cybrid Joe, there's also the robot butler who gets Tiger Joe's full moveset if you survive enough waves in survival mode. He's extremely hard to deal with because he moves like a God Hand character in a system that isn't designed for it.

That's Barbot, in Mad Survival you can fight 3 of them simultaneously. Wish it could show up in other game modes as a stage hazard.

Blessed to have had the opportunity to play Anarchy Reigns shortly after its release outside of Japan and got to enjoy its awesome multiplayer for about the 3 months it took for the game to die out. This is genuinely one of the most entertaining games I've ever played and Im glad I still got my copy!

Man, Anarchy Reigns was so fucking cool. Its a shame that it sold like trash and was pretty much dead on arrival. But that's pretty much Platinum's entire history in a nutshell.

Quite sad anarchy reigns never really had the chance to shine, playing a beat em up game with over 30 people in a single game sounded like a hell of a time, but because nobody really played it, I was left just imagining it while only being able to play CPUs in battle royal.

The fact that you can find these references, making us realize how everyone in PlatniumGames loves the last game they made in Clover Studio Well mostly because it's their last game so they want to make something they always wanted, that's why the story and the comedy feels too "Japanese"

There's references to other Clover games too. Bayonetta's red and white alt colors are references to Viewtiful Joe and Amaterasu. Platinum loves their self references.

With all the references, do you think Gene & Godhand inspired the creation of Nero in DMC4? Nero has the devil bringer. When you check early footage of DMC4, Nero's arm glowed a yellow/orange colour. Nero & Gene's personalities are somewhat similar too. God Hand came out in 2006 and DMC4 came out in 2008.

The strongest God Hand reference in Anarchy reigns was honestly the game itself. So much of it bled the same golden blood that God Hand did in all the right ways, despite playing mostly different and having only a few shared mechanics. The same set of skills one would use to thrive in God Hand would serve you very well in Anarchy Reigns, and the game really had that same nonchalant kickass feeling to it. The story wasn't bad or anything, but it was very basic and existed in a game that loved to be ridiculous and have fun. Anarachy Reigns was more or less the last game ever made by Clover/Platinum that evoked the same energy as God Hand. I'd love to see it return, but I'm more than glad to have just played the game when it was alive. Here's hoping someone, somewhere, can do one day do it justice. Edit: also, Xenia emulation can run Anarchy Reigns pretty decently, so as long as you have the means and a few friends to play with, the game isn't truly dead.
