The problem with that is that we don't set the terms of the relationship: assuming God is going to be a gentle giant in your relationship is like saying gravity works backwards because I said so. The same goes for assuming God is going to be a badass, hence the Jews crucified Jesus because he wasn't a badass. What is certain however is that if God is not a gentle giant and a badass (it's not impossible to be both at the same time), he is better than both.
