I love this edit because most women edits show the ladies kicking ass and smacking someone and it's considered badass. But here you can see power isn't just about physical strength. A woman fighting for her family is strong. A woman marching to her own drum is strong. A woman standing up for what she believes in is strong. Strength is love. It's grace. It's confidence. It's all inside you.

I love how she chose women from different eras, starting from Draupadi of Mahabharat( 5000years ago) to Rani laxmi Bai( late 1800s). One woman fights the hegemony of men, one tends to her family aka kingdom, the other consoles her child while tending to her own mental wounds. One turns a savior going on a rampage to kill pimps whereas one self-immolates herself, but doesn't let the enemy have a look at her, without her will, truly every woman is a Goddess in herself. She can be homely, bedecked with jewelry, sustain life like Lakshmi or can drench the dirt underneath with blood of demons who threaten her, like Kali.

@@CammyVunny 1. Manikarnika: Story of Rani (Queen ) Laxmibai : Kangana plays the fearless queen who fights the British despite having a young child. She herself IS the example of bravery 2. Bajirao Mastani : Husband from childhood who loved her fiercely falls prey to a Muslim woman forcing as his wife, saying in their custom, gifting a dagger is marriage. Now, husband completely leaves wife because wife won't tolerate being "shared". She says "You broke my PRIDE (of the trust I'd in you". (Now don't you dare say you love us both. You shall NEVER see me). The movie glorifies said "love story" Bajirao is husband. Mastani is other woman. But in the few scenes wife has, Priyanka Chopra Jonas LITERALLY STEALS THE SHOW. You can spend 2 hours glorifying the infidelity, but Priyanka killed it in those few lines she had. What a perfect portrayal of being let down PATHOS. 3. Padmaavat: Same woman who played "other woman", is playing queen. Her husband dies in war to prevent this Muslim invader who wants his wife. Now, she burnt herself alive rather than letting him touch her. Her body can die, her consent won't. 4. BAAHUBALI 2: Fiction The queen is seen hailing the heir baby (like lion King) She dies in sea while hand still perched to protect her grandson. Other lady was her daughter-in-law fighting invaders with arrows 5. MAHABHARATA: The longest poem in the world is so many episodes it will take you months to watch. The biggest epic ever written. But obviously so great, it never gets old. DRAUPADI is the woman that married 5 of the brothers. The cousins of her husband's disrespected her & now there's a nuclear war. Proof of the war is found in Kurukshetra by modern scientists. So, some of it sure happened although it's called Indian mythology.

The pitch in her voice as she speaks, the cracks as she delivered dialogues after Draupadi got dragged to the Sabha by her hair-the entire scene is CHILLING in Stat Plus’ Mahabharat. The vulnerability on her face when they called her Dasi and asked, “Kaise ban gayi mai dasi?” Then with a flash, the aggression swept over her face. She growled, “Ye mujhe sweekarya nahi. i have watched both the shows! and both of the actresses have played the part very well. the earlier Mahabharat show was not that fiercely portrayed and vibrantly executed obvious it was like 20-30 years ago, Rupa Ganguli has done immense justice to that character she was stoic, composed looked beautiful, slayed every dialouge with a sarcastic pinch, basically what you think a bold princess would be. Pooja Sharma in new Mahabharata was elegant but fierce in her own way and she looked stunning while showing her intensity to the craft which complimented the grandeur of the new show.

Draupadi is indeed a most amazing women but what do you mean by this statement of yours "Such an apt slap to all the bravado and dharma talked about the Pandavas in Mahabharata" ? Whole Mahabharta war was happened because of what happened with Draupadi and that what ever action is taken in series of events is defended as Dharma, so on one side you are praising Draupadi and on the other side you are downplaying Dharma, I don't understand your comment.

@@lordsullivan4368 oh really ?! The entire war of Mahabharata happened because of how Draupadi was treated?! Oh sweetheart how naive of you!! 👀... All the actions taken in Mahabharata is indeed defended by dharma ... But , that's what I talked about ... Who exactly will set the bar and determine what dharma is , and what exactly is dharma and who are they to determine if an action is according to dharma . Dharma is relative and it changes according to the situation and the person ... Mahabharata is infact mainly a political drama , where apparently everything happened bcuz of Draupadi but that's not the truth and if you read the "sabha parba" properly, you'll know why exactly I said that it was an apt slap. Oh , and do take offense because whatever happened with Draupadi throughout the drama , one has to be blind to not notice her misery and yet you said what you said . Wow. How ignorant!! @@lordsullivan4368 Also , could you really defend how yudhishthira just blatantly bet his wife when he knew he was loosing and didnt raise a voice when she was literally being stripped in the royal court. None of the great heroes and warriors who talked so much about strength and honour, did say word let alone so something. It was defended by dharma saying yudhishthira has already bet himself in the game and had become a slave , even a slave has one property left , ie his wife so even a slave could bet his wife , that's exactly what he did . And the reason why none of those present in the court did anything when she was being stripped, was because Draupadi then , had already become the Kauravas' slave . So they could do just anything with her . So ?! Now I dare you question my "apt slap" remark . And about the actions being defended by dharma, you know what ... Fuck such dharma that cannot protect basic human rights . Not just this . All her life Draupadi has been strong throughout all the broken promises and miserable grievances. So , as i said before ... Study and reflect and then can come and make some remarks . Ps . Dint want to say so much ... But what you said ... Glad I dint hold back.

@@aasthabiswas2014 After reading your reply, I was confused, I read my comment one more time, but I was not able to find where I mentioned that I downplay the suffering of Draupadi ? And I neither blamed her for mahabharta war rather I feel it was correct to do so and it is dharma which tell to do so, but you are labelling me like I am hating her and blaming her for mahabharta war by downplaying her suffering. And the dialogue said by Draupadi is correct and I myself support that and support the later course of action taken by Pandavas and it is dharam mentioned by Lord KRISHNA which guide them, Pandav were initially wrong( those wrong action were defended by them by calling it as dharma, definately that is not a dharma and they are wrong about it) and that dialogue is a slap which suits the action which they have taken by calling it dharma and it was dharma which later guide their course of action, but the fact that you are saying it is slap to Dharma( because at some instances their dharma was wrong and at some instances their dharma was correct), I was confused and I asked a simple question to understand what you are trying to convey, but rather confuse me more, when I read your later comment, it feels like pressure cooker full of prejudice against me and waiting to burst by making self assumption. Well, good luck with that. You said feel free to get offend, but for what I will get offend ? Even if I may don't agree with you( firstly I don't understand your views), why would I get offended ? I asked you to know your perspective because philosophy is like that, there are many ways to see things and not many understand what is the hidden meaning of it and I even don't consider I have full understanding of it, that why I asked you about your perspective. But after reading your comment I can definately say you are the one whon was really offended and yeah feel free to do so, because if you get so worked up for asking simple question that to with lot of prejudice you are the one who need to correct yourself not me. Previously also I have discussed with lot of people about their views on Bhagwat geeta, mahabharta but we have a healthy dicussion not a war of words. I was wrong to even reply to you and I apologize for that, consider I never said anything about Draupadi etc etc, I always wish for healthy dicussion not a discussion full of arrogance and prejudice, I fell you don't even have a tendency to understand other perspective, even if I may be incorrect about my views on mahabharta war, Draupadi etc, but their is a way to tell things. Good bye.

In a recent archaeological discovery in North India a 4500 year old site was uncovered. In one of those was found a burial chamber with skeletal remains of a person which had copper swords, knives and fossilized bow arrow along with ivory and semiprecious stone jewelry buried with it, proving it was a burial of some ancient warrior. Further carbon dating found the skeleton belonged to a woman. This was a milestone, proving since how long India had woman warriors.

At 1:48 is a legendary dialogue of kashibai to her husband Bajirao peshwa who married another woman The complete dialogue is " If you would've asked me for my life I would've given that to you with a smil, But you snatched me off my Pride" Priyanka Chopra is Op is this movie At 1:23 that is a biography on The great Rani Laxmi Bai She fought her battle against the British with literally her baby tied to her back At 2:38 is Rani Padmini The movie is quite inaccurate when it come to the story But in this scene all tha women and kids of her palace are doing jauhar( burning themselves to death) because they just found aut that they lost the battle and the enemy will soon invade the palace and enslave everyone. For them dying with pride was a far better option than living a life of misery

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ramleela is one set in the modern day but still has same vibes as the one you listed and has the same lead actress (Deepika Padukone) as Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani. It’s also a loose adaption of Romeo and Juliet. Ashoka is another historical movie about a great Indian king, though it is set in ancient India not medieval. The Bahubali films are fictional set in ancient India and one of the highest grossing movies in India. Devdas with Aishwarya Rai (actress from Jodhaa Akbar) was set in early 1900s. Lagaan is a movie set in late 1800s about a group of villagers using cricket to rebel against British rule. Mughal-e-Azam is a very old movie (1960) with iconic actress Madhubala.

Isn't indonesia an islamic county though? How do your school know about a hindu epic like Mahabharata? And also noticing how your surname Muhareni resembles the hindi word Maharani word which means queen. No hard feelings, just curious.

@@smollilbean Indonesia was heavily influenced by india in the past. Mainly because of Hinduism & Buddhism. So, epics like mahabharata & Ramayana became a part of their culture & because Indonesia didn't go through Islamic invasions and as their transition from one religion to another was rather peaceful. It didn't create conflict between the old & the new as in they didn't feel the need to destroy their identity unlike in Pakistan where the new Muslim converts first destroyed their identity to fit in their new identity because of the arabic influence. The Arab influence in Indonesia is quite less.
