They cut a little part off the Ishida/Jugram scene where it's explained that Ishida had hidden a number of devices similar to his old glove's mechanism around the palace. Basically, his plan was to detonate the entire castle, with Yhwach and the Sternritter inside it, rather than trying to fight. He didn't know about the omniscience, so Jugram collected and diffused the devices. Askin is basically Mahoraga on steroids (and was the inspiration for the character in JJK). If you don't kill him with the first few strikes, you aren't going to kill him because he can adapt to anything. Remember, there are only 4 more enemies left--Yhwach, Jugram, Askin and Gerard, and an entire cour left. Some of those fights are going to go LONG, as those final 4 are nearly unkillable. Kiba IS dead. Remember how Mayuri was testing zombification with the old ex-Espada? While it isn't explained in the manga (or anime apparantly), he was zombified so he could keep fighting after death. One thing that they added in is the little scene of Uryuu during Auswahlen. He WAS targeted like his mother, but he somehow survived.

I really want to know what the plan with Ukitake and Mimihagi are since they were dead by this point in the manga. Lille was scattered by Nanao and is now much weaker. In fact, in the manga, Lille got off screened by Deadman Kira. === They brought Isshin and Ryūken back into the story much earlier than the manga. The only scene with them in the manga at this time was the brief flashback to Ryūken autopsying his wife to figure out how she died. === Yhwach dog walked the Bambis while asleep and without The Almighty. I'd feel sorry for Liltotto but I'm too happy watching Giselle suffer. === With 25 chapters left of the manga we will probably get about seven episodes worth of original content next cour so the ending of Episode 40 doesn't bother me. We've also already gotten the teaser trailer for cour 4 today. The USA is supposed to get the special OP and ED tomorrow from what I've heard.
