For me, this opening is my favorite in both TYBW and all of Bleach. Though the Part 1 opening Scar is a close second. The meaning of the lyrics for both songs really elevate them and perfectly express the themes of Bleach.

It's sad that Gray seems to have no memory of his biological mother considering her absence. === If Mashima wasn't so focused on Action Shonen he'd make a good a good rom-com writer. === Georg screwed up. Now Diabolos has to deal with a momma dragon out for blood. Cause that always goes well for the Humans in stories. === Again, I really hope they are saving budget for the finale. === I figured they wouldn't finish this arc this season. === Juvia was probably making her infamous Gray or Juvia buns in that cover for Chapter 84. === You should check out the Japanese version of the cover arts. In the Japanese version of the cover for Chapter 85 there is text saying "Did you drop a normal Happy? Or a golden Happy?" if that helps you figure it out because I still can't beyond the obvious answer and maybe there isn't some deeper meaning. === Is it just me or Alta Face even more hideous in the anime than it is in the manga?

@@Mirthy0902 The words on the Japanese cover for Chapter 86 don't really mean anything important (not that Chapter 85 is really all that important) plus Zach was focused on the meaning of Chapter 85 and the two Happys.

The first battle in Soul Society was in 1003/04. So this episode covers time from around 992-1002 plus or minus a year or two. TYBW takes place in 2003 and 2013. It appears that humans in Silbern either stopped aging or age very slowly.

The fact that: 1) Bleach has B (Haschwalt) and H (Bazz-B) on opposite ends, with A (Yhwach) in the middle. 2) Bazz-B has the schrift H while Hashbrown has the shcrift B (they're have the first letter of the other as their schrift) 3) Bazz- B's bday is 1 day earlier than Ichigo, Hashbrown's bday is 1 day earlier than Uryu. 4) Bazz-B has the surname Black, while Ichigo has also the surname Black (Kuro). 4) Bazz-B's final attack was called Burning Full Finger = BFF??? Not that reach because the title of the epiosde was fri-end.

For the manekin thing, it hasn't been explained in the manga, but according to Japanese folklore, there are a few explanations. Spirit can arise from antique objects, naturally occurred or man made, specific to age above 50 yrs. The longer it exists, the more powerful it is. e.g. the mountain god, the land god, a broom spirit, an umbrella spirit. I believe the female manekin belongs to this origin. Spirit can also arise from human's thoughts or emotions, like a devoted belief or fear. The more thoughts or emotions it composed of, the more powerful it is. Since the moving manekin is from a famous high school mystery story, I believe the not-that-old male manekin belongs to this origin. Spirit can also arise from resentful or regretful death, and then they possess something. Probably less convincing for the manekin case since nothing is mentioned about the backstory of the manekin before death (if any).

There's actually multiple versions of this opening. After Pernida's true form was revealed it was included in the opening and same goes for Lille Barro's angel form. And I forget if you've reacted to the ending but that's spoiler free and also has multiple versions. One adds Pernida's hand form, and another reverses the visuals (similarly to the Jojo part 4 opening).

This is one of the best episodes due to how backstory-heavy it is, in a good way. As per the usual, there are some things to add: -The next episode will be the final one AND a double one. So get ready for almost one hour of Bleach Part 3 finale. -It's interesting the parallel between Aizen and Yhwach. Before, Aizen cowed Grimmjow into submission with his Reiatsu. Now, Yhwach cowed Bazz-B with his. Unlike Grimmjow, whose rebelling spirit sort of died at that moment, however (at least until Aizen was defeated), Bazz-B's spirit of rebellion never died down. -It's also interesting that the ability to share power is so rare in Bleach. Yhwach is one, Haschwalth is another. But there is another one with the same ability: Ginjo Kugo. Remember that he shared Ichigo's stolen power with the other Fullbringers? Considering he was also a Substitute Shinigami (the first one, in fact) and "similar" to Ichigo, that makes for interesting theories. -About the Quincies: at the beginning, Urahara states that they were spiritually aware humans who mastered abilities to battle Hollows but, over time, with new facts brought up to light, I think this definition was silently retconned. Notice that, for starters, Bazz-B and Haschwalth never identify themselves as humans, but as Quincies. Also they were around even before Yhwach started the Sternritters, which puts the timeframe somewhere after the meeting with Ichibei but before the first invasion. The unnamed female Quincy also doesn't seem to have aged at all, despite being, apparently, the youngest of the bunch (neither did the other three), which indicates that Quincies can, apparently, live as long as the Shinigamis. -Adding to that, Urahara states there are *four* races: Human, Shinigami, Hollow and Quincy. Humans and Hollows are opposites, as Shinigamis and Quincies are opposites. Hollows are opposites to Quincies and, presumably, the rest, but Quincies are the only ones who get poisoned by Hollow reiatsu, which is quite a strange trait for a simple "spiritually aware human" to have. Later on, Ryuuken talks about "human power" and puts Ginjo (Substitute Shinigami/Fullbringer), Sado (Fullbringer) and Orihime (unknown at that time but now confirmed as Fullbringer) under that umbrella. While he includes Uryuu (mixed-blood Quincy), he excludes himself (pure-blood Quincy) and admits he's stretching the definition of "human power" to even include Uryuu at all. He also doesn't clarify what the concept of "human power" means. By that metric, it's now all but stated that Quincies actually aren't human but a separate race unto themselves. The weakness toward Hollow reiatsu, their abnormal lifespans, all point out to that. And there's also the Quincies that definitely *aren't* human, like Pernida, and are made from parts of the Soul King.

This is actually before the meeting with Ichibe. The Almighty was sealed during that meeting, Yhwach having it here means this is before that.

@@almightygod2144 I remember it now but that always bugged me, unless Yhwach always had the idea of conquering SS prior to the meeting and learning what happened to the SK only added fuel to the fire. Also I remember the female Quincy had short hair at the meeting but a ponytail in this episode. Also, during the meeting, Ichibei talked about "recognizing the Quincy's state as an independent state", which means the conquer of territories was still happening at that time.

So, here's my thoughts on how the Quincy timeline went: 1000+ years ago, Yhwach went across the various Quincy strongholds and conquered them, forcing them into his empire, the Lichtreich. He uses the Almighty to see weaponry in the future, allowing people from medieval times to access thing like machine guns, helping in the conquest. Jugram and Bazz are alive at this point in time as well. Yhwach, after consolidating the Lichtreich, decides that it's time to take his forces and invade the Soul Society for his ultimate goal of attacking the Soul King. It's at this point that Ichibe catches wind of this and does his whole 'sealing the Almighty' thing. The invasion happens, almost every Quincy gets slaughtered in the attack, and then Yhwach gets killed. However, I believe that him dying to Yamamoto/Sasakibe fulfilled Ichibe's conditions and reawakened the Almighty, allowing Yhwach to ultimately survive but regress into sleep. The few surviving Quincy fled into the shadows of the Soul Society to await Yhwach's reawakening. Not all Quincy were part of the invasion, though. It was only those chosen as the Sternritter at the time. The remaining Quincy remained in the Living World, until 200 years ago, when the Shinigami slaughtered them save a couple family lines, like the Kurosaki and Ishida. The Sternritter simply remained hidden in the shadows in some kind of suspended animation for 900 years until Yhwach awoke again and began planning. In fact, I think that Yhwach missing the Almighty would have specifically told Jugram to stay behind in the original invasion since he was his 'other half' and Yhwach was more vulnerable than usual. We know that Yhwach went on a recruiting spree when he came back to life. As Nodt was in a modern hospital when Yhwach granted him a Schrift, after all. I think that the current Sternritter consist of three different groups: 1st, the few survivors of the original invasion, 2nd, whomever Jugram was able to recruit in the Living World after Yhwach's defeat, and 3rd, the few surviving Quincy in the Living world that chose to join. The Ishida and Kurosaki families, however, definitely chose not to join and were hence considered to be the only 'true' survivng Quincies... at least until the Kurosaki family line ended with Masaki. Even Ichigo, Karin, and Yuzu would be considered impure Quincy and wouldn't count in the eyes of the pure families.

It’s funny that the Irazusando Training, extended fight with the Bambis, and the fights with Ishida and Ywach earlier this cour were all anime only content added to fix the “Where’s Ichigo?” Problem. And Zach is still noticing the MC is basically absent for this entire arc.
@fenriswolfq22Күн бұрын
Hoping to see my theory that Ichigo is the same type of Quincy as Yhwach and Jugo confirmed.... all his friends BECAME spiritually aware over time and as HE got stronger, none were born that way, even the "fullbring" ones weren't prior to their relationship with Ichigo, and all the other fullbringers from the fullbring arc were getting attacked by Hollows/ spiritually aware from a much younger age then Chad and Orihime, and Ichigo is a Hybrid Quincy closer to the soul king then Ywatch or Haschwalth so power he gives out may be more like Fullbring powers than Quincy ones... plus ishida’s bow/arrow was buffed by touching Ichigo. And Shun shun Rika said ichigo’s power was responsible for them developing. He also started displaying Quincy powers pretty much as soon as two Quincy's he hit with energy attacks ( and thus took in his spiritual power) were killed by other people, these being Ebern and Quilge. As soon as Quilge dies Ichigo began to absorb the Jail almost like he was suddenly able to absorb Reishi like a Quincy.... he couldn't absorb Quilge's reishi the way a normal Quincy would prior to his Quincy powers actually being active, so absorbing the "Jail" CAN'T be what activated them. i think Ichigo and Yhwach probably split Quilge and Eberns power 50/50 since they would have died with both of their spiritual energies in them, and after absorbing one full "Quincys" worth of powers/experience, suddenly Ichigo's use Blut like a pure blood.... like Quilge...
