Pretty ironic of zeus to say that since he ordered athena and ares to take "the marked warrior" therefore setting making kratos take deimos' place
@MoneyTrees20123 жыл бұрын
I think Kratos was always the marked warrior he just wasn't marked yet and that is why Zeus thought it was Deimos who would bring about the end because of his birthmark. Since it's a prophecy it doesn't have to foretell events currently in motion but ones that will come to pass. Kind of similar with Anakin trying to save Padme. Helios, (Greek: “Sun”) in Greek religion, the sun god, sometimes called a Titan. He drove a chariot daily from east to west across the sky and sailed around the northerly stream of Ocean each night in a huge cup. ... His worship spread as he became increasingly identified with other deities, often under Eastern influence. Apollo was the god of practically everything - including but not limited to music, poetry, art, prophecy, truth, archery, plague, healing, sun and light (although the god is always associated with the sun, the original sun god was the titan Helios, but everyone forgot about him). This what happen hope it help out

Thanks so much for the quick recap of Greek mythology 😃
@austinkersey24453 жыл бұрын
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Hermes is the Messenger God of Greek Mythology. Although, he was the Messenger God he was also the God of: trade, wealth, luck, fertility, animal husbandry, sleep, language, thieves, and travel. Now, the gods are not quite as bad in actual myth. In the games, due to Kratos opening Pandora's Box in God of War 1, he unleashed the evils of the world. The Greek gods were infected by them, particularly some of the Seven Deadly Sins. Zeus was consumed by the evil of Fear, which is why he despised Kratos. To be fair though, Greek mythology has an underlying theme of fathers being betrayed and overthrown by their sons. Kronos did it to Ouranus and Zeus to Kronos. It was believed in Ancient Greece that if you had a son and had anything worth taking, at some point you needed to keep an eye on the kid. So it's that compounded by being possessed by an aspect of evil. I think Poseidon was possessed by Pride, Hades by Wrath, Helios I can't tell, Herakles by Envy, Hermes I can't tell what it was either, and Hephaestus by Greed. It's a big story. Also, fuck Athena. God of War Athena specifically but fuck Athena. If you play the series you'll know why.

@jackryder56833 жыл бұрын
You can't blame that old kratos either. He just asked for his nightmares to be removed. And did tasks for the gods for lifetimes, they did everything but grant him his wish. He trusted nobody anymore. And when he tried to kill himself they didn't let that happen either. His only answer apparently was vengeance. So spark notes version. Kratos was a spartan losing a battle, called out to Aries and Aries blessed him. As payment Aries tricked Kratos into burning his wife and Daughter and plastered their ashes onto his skin. So Athena contacts Kratos and says you can get revenge on Aries by opening Pandoras box. God of War 1 happens. Once Aries is dead by fulfilling the will of the God's they make Kratos the God of War. I don't think they had a sequel in mind cause the end cutscene shows Kratos blessing wars up to modern day. So it doesn't really explain in game super well, and I never played the handheld games so maybe that's where they go more into it, but pandoras box has all that bad juju in it and it infested the gods. So Zeus in particular got struck with paranoia and seeing Kratos so powerful in the start of the 2nd game then tricks him into giving up his full God hood so the other gods can kill him. While all the other gods have their bad jujus Kratos has the last thing out of pandoras box being hope I guess which is what's still fueling him along with rage and monster energy. So yeah all the gods even poseidon are against him. I forget the specific of what Hera had from the box but it caused her to drink in excess which is why when fighting Hercules, who is voiced by Kevin Sorbo who played Heracules in the old live action TV show, she's drinking and then when confronting Kratos she's stumbling around cause she drunk AF. Relatable. Also Hades is Mr Krabs.

For everyone who followed Kratos’s story up to GOW3 the final beat down of Zeus was cathartic. Seeing what he went through, how he was tricked as well as used by just about everyone around him only to be betrayed at the end. GOW3 was basically Kratos saying “Look at me. Look at me!! I’m the captain now. 😤”. Also if you want a quick synopsis of Kratos’ story before GOW3 the intro of the same game give a quick good one imo. My jaw hit the floor in such disbelief when I saw Kratos kill himself at the end of this game. I grew up playing this franchise since 2005 and seeing one of my favorite characters in gaming commit suicide was the most heartbreaking thing to me. (I was 13 at the time. Let’s just say that I didn’t have what most would call a “normal” childhood.) But, it makes so much sense now that I’m older and understand that Kratos was used and betrayed by the Gods and in turn, was stripped of what little humanity he had left by the third game. Hence, that’s why he ruthlessly used Poseidon’s daughter to hold open that one gate. The game wants you to know that Kratos has completely lost touch within himself as a human being and doesn’t even know who he is and what he’s become anymore. (He even acknowledges his deteriorating state of being in the first mainline game as you traverse Pandora’s Temple with, “By the Gods, what have I become?”) To this day, Kratos has one of the best character arches in all of gaming if you take the time to delve into it.
@Nimbus17013 жыл бұрын
This is great and you both had great reactions. I've said it many times before to my friends, but as much as I love the new God of War game, it really is Kratos lite looking at him like this. I much prefer this Kratos, which unfortunately I don't anticipate getting in any future installments, but I'll still buy every game in this series and play them all. Great stuff you two. I hope you both are well. Edit: My favorite death is definitely ripping off Helios' head and then using it as a supercharged lantern. Hermes' death is also a top 5 death scene for me. The blood covering the screen when killing Zeus is just beautiful imagery to show how Kratos was just consumed by hate. And the God whose crown/tiara you broke was Hera, mother of Hercules, I'm guessing that she somehow effected the vegetation of Greece. Also Cronos was basically Kratos's grandfather, father of Zeus, and Gaia was Kratos's great grandmother, mother of all Titans and Gods. Unfortunately T.C. Carson doesn't return in the 2018 or Ragnarok games, but it makes sense. From 2005 to 2013 was Greek era Kratos, consumed by anger and hate, while Christopher Judge is much more calm and now has a son. It shows growth, teaching his son to only kill if you're in the situation of "kill or be killed".

Kratos is jacked looked at him” Well when you’re raised in spartan, born demi god, have crazy streght and all that jazz and are angry with a god who tricked you to kill you’re you’re own family and angry at the gods you have served for years and found out that they lied to you along side kidnapped you’re brother and took you’re mother away and not to mention you’re father being the god of gods killing you’re own people and home and those said gods making you a god instead of giving you what you wanted. You would be filled with nothing but pure streght and tons and TONS OF blood boiling rage! But that’s what makes kratos a tragic character yet you can relate to him do a degree and in the 4th game is interesting to see him trying his best leave the past behind and trying to be a father to his own son it’s really good stuff!

Athena's Spirt tells you that Pandora's box contained Hope and Fear which had spread across the world. Fear consumed Zeus and Hope consumed Kratos that is why Zeus tried to kill him. If you’re wondering why Hera went out so easy? Shes kinda linked to the land, so when you killed Poseidon you flood the lands, when you killed helios you got rid of the sun. Helios is actually the god of the sun. And in reality the Titan of the sun. The game was a tad bit more accurate since most poets and cults themed Apollo as the god of the sun, but he was more centered as a god of hunting, arts and music (until Dionysus appeared as the last Olympian). And Helios Roman version is Sol. Which is the word for sun for many Latin languages such as Spanish, Italian, French, etc
