Here's what's going on: -They enhanced the lighting effects -Upped the resolution from 720p to 1080p -Increased the frame rate from a locked 30 to a locked 60, most likely using V-Sync -Bumped the texture resolutions from medium to high -Increased the sharpness to a max one hundred percent -Reduced Depth of Field -Increased Anti-Aliasing from what I presume to be 4x MSAA to 8x MSAA -And lastly, increased the resolution of all flora, ice, water, blood, fire and various particle effects -Increased amount of shaders -Barely increased saturation -Definitively increased shadow resolutions Not too shabby for an extra $10 at GameStop in 2018, huh?

That had great gameplay, combat AND a really good story. 2 was like the mega upgrade and just improved upon EVERYTHING, story was good but not as good as 1 3 had the best combat and graphics and decent gameplay but thats it. It never had a story. Just KILL THE GODS AAARRGGHHH!!!!! Pandora crap doesn't count.

If u look it with a tube tv at 480p, it will look amazing with video component cable. The problem with a low resolution video is in the screen used to reproduce it. The 720/1080p native displays needs videos at the same native resolution to looking good. With an old crt tv everything looks good. For ex, Pink Floyd original ntsc vhs tape looks sharper and beautiful on a tube tv and when you play it on an lcd/lcd led tv looks horrible.

As someone that has finished God of war 3 20 times on ps3. The PS4 version is a significant improvement in all aspects. Not only does the ps4 version have sharper textures but it also has way better blood effects that makes the combat a lot more satisfying. They have also improved the feel of the combat and made the blades of chaos have more of a weighty feel to them. Just better feedback. It might seem trivial to most people but as a god of war fan these minor improvement made the game seem fresh and new again. I am in love all over again.

crispy where do you live? Here in Europe you can buy games second hand. From stores like Gamestop and such and also from private people over the internet. It is as good as a new, but it's much cheaper. I still suggest you to buy the game because it is a really good game...

ppl do not realise that this remaster was made not because the game was not 1080p but because it was locked at 30fps on ps3 and they wanted all GOWs to have 60fps and ultimately it does look much better in 60 you have to play it to feel it does not really seem like it from the gameplay

Wie Sony sich schon keine Mühe mehr gibt. Sind wir denn jetzt schon wieder auf den Stand vor 2-3 Jahren, wo die Flut der ganzen "HD Collections" kam. Sowas kann man doch nicht als Remastered betrachten. Halo2 war ein Remaster, Wind Waker war ein Remaster, Gears of War wird ein Remaster. Das ist doch bestenfalls ein besserer HD Port.

***** Nur das bei Halo 2 alle auch die Entwickler von einem Remaster reden. Das was wir hier tun ist Wortwischerei, die Begriffe Remaster und Remake sind bei Videospielen nicht klar definiert und werden eher für marketing Zwecke benutzt. Für mich ist ein Remaster eine Überarbeitung von vorhandenem Material auch wenn es nur die Engine ist. Ein Remake hingegen von Grund auf Neu ist. Counter Strike und CounterStrike-Source, TombRaider Anniversary. Aber auch egal, mag halt Halo2 auch ein Remake sein, kann damit auch leben. Aber God of War3 ist es nicht.

BeastBlood1996 I would say so too, but, the only "real" upgrades are 1080p and stable 60fps. The enhanced textures are noticeable but its not a big deal.

Last of Us Remastered is a full 60fps, few better textures and alot better draw distance - I'd say 60fps is the best thing about the remaster - overall really good remaster - GOW3 not much they culd do really just port it
