You know, after finishing GoW Ragnarok, I do have to say that the fight with Zeus comes off as more epic. Not to mention Zeus coming off as more powerful than Odin could ever hope to be, both in GoW2 & 3. Frankly, Odin was a disappointment in comparison. 😅

Bruv, the Norse gods struggled with a non aggressive, family man of Krato who was suppressed. He made quick work of Thor, Freyja, Heimdall, Odin, and their strongest beast. GoW3 Kratos would annihilated Norse gods in 0.001 seconds. He would have power that the Norse wouldn’t even comprehend.

It's confirmed that when Baldur first showed up he was Kratos' strongest Foe ever, and greek gods get stronger with age. Thor was on par with him, Thor wanted to see Destroyer(Bloodlust) Kratos so they could have a true even fight Odin wanted him to show it so he could turn Artreus against him. Thor wanted a slug fest with one of them dying by the end of the day. If Thor hadn't fought Jorm at the end of the game. If Thor were to have fought Kratos straight up, and Kratos did win. In terms of feats, Baldur has not been shown to be able to do anything greater than the power of Zeus. Thor if he is considered (according to Kratos) as one of the strongest adversaries he has ever fought (but not necessarily the most powerful). The current Kratos is simply stronger physically than he was before, but he's not more powerful in general terms (Stamina, magic, weapons), in that sense, the young Kratos is still more powerful.

Okay, let me get the story straight; Kratos opened the Pandora box, let out all the evils in the world, he got the ultimate power of hope - he hopes to be forgiven for his deeds against his family and he hopes that he will be able to kill the gods to be redeemed -, Zeus got infected with fear and thus wants to kill the titans and Kratos, his son. Kratos has been fighting all this time the gods with his repressed hope, repressed due to his guilt. Now on this final battle Kratos kills Zeus when he pierced him with the blade of Olympus inside Gaia's heart but the fear of Zeus is so powerful that keeps him alive; Zeus was unconscious but the fear touched Kratos and thus we saw his painful memories, the memories that he fears. Among his painful memories that he fears, among all the darkness he chases to find Pandora, HOPE. He finds it and frees himself from the evil fear, and with it he found the strength to fight it. Kratos fight with fear - the black smokey image of Zeus - means that he is confonting his own painful memories and accept them to move on. He beats fear and it gets out of Zeus who is now weak from their fight. Kratos once and for all kills Zeus and his vengeance is complete. If all this is correct then I still have questions. Why does Kratos say to Athena that the box is empty (29:17)? Didn't he understand that Pandora was hope, or what he got from the box was hope? And that Pandora died in vain? He said that because he thought that someone else could have used it for more noble causes than vengeance? At 31:46 Athena says that his hope was buried all this time due to his guilt; so did he or did he not use hope all this time? Or he had it repressed in this final battle but awakened it once he encountered fear, awakened by Pandora?

If there’s a game after ragnorok I hope these weapons kratos left behind would be found by other gods upsetting the balance of another god pantheon sparking a war and kratos tries to stay out of it but those gods find out kratos was the rightful owner and what he did and so those gods hunt him down because he’s a threat to godhood itself to all realms of gods..lol it’s abit much but would make a cool concept for a game
