@@jgxbernardo Kratos wasn't necessarily a dick to Deimos. If you look at it from their perspective, Spartan boys were expected to be as strong as adults, since they wanted their army to be strong and fierce. Kratos being the older brother had to be hard on Deimos so that he could get stronger.

He can control lighting because Sindri enchanted his bow with the dragon's teeth. So far, the only godly powers he has shown is super strenght, being able to use the Rage of Sparta, ability with languages as Mimir said and apparently he has some influence over weather as shown here.

Note how enemies become more unsettling and unnatural in this part of the game. Take SPECIAL note of how wolves have gone from being starved to becoming diseased and rabid. Now remember who Atreus actually is. Also, 'fun' fact, if you die in the caves after this part, there is a very small chance that Atreus will straight up refuse to revive you if you have a ressurection stone. His response when he decides to abandon Kratos-his father- and leave him to rot? "Whatever."

To clear up the confusion about Atreus causing this thunderstorm. The storm in this scene was Thor giving Modi a beatdown for abandoning Magni to die at Kratos’s hands. The storm we see when Kratos goes home to retrieve his blades was Atreus’s godhood emerging and nature was reacting to it while BOI was in Freya’s care.
