I started playing Ragnarok yesterday and realized I didn't really remember much about the 2018 game. Then I realized I didn't remember anything about the original trilogy and side games. Maybe in some twisted way Cronos did want to be a dad and cared for his children, which is why he kept having them and didn't "chew" to kill them. He could not bring himself to actually kill them but couldn't be overthrown, so he just imprisoned them in his belly.
