That is not how video game business work. Sony doesn't care how many copies this game sells.. .It doesn't even matter if the game turns a profit at all. That is the strategy of exclusives. Sony invest in exclusives because it makes the PS4 a more attractive product. They make those games to sell more PS4 consoles, not to sell game copies. All those exclusives: God of War, Horizon, Uncharted, Last of Us etc makes people to choose PS4 even if the person end up not buying all those games, if they buy the console because of one of those games, that is enough for Sony. Third party studios such as EA, UbiSoft etc need to turn all the profit from game sales alone and these days with AAA development so expansive it is becoming harder and harder... that's why so many DLC and microtransactions come into play, to help push more revenue from these games.. not to mention that a share of every copy of a third party game sold on PS4 goes to Sony. That is why we rarely get a AAA with this quality from a third party developer.

That single "Again!" at the end might be the biggest reason I want to play the game. With the rest of the cinematic showing the amount of fighting they go through, with Atreus continuing to be frustrated with himself and then managing to land an important shot on the enemy to help his father; that "Again!" from Kratos says so much about their relationship, adventure and Kratos himself.

We're not far from that. Next GOW will probably be like that. Ragnarok wasn't because it is cross-gen and we're still in the beginning of the PS5 gen. Full potential of the console will start to be seen in 2 or 3 years.
