The abilities and magic the greek gods have access to far surpasses what the norse can even think of. For example take Baldur. Sure he's got invulnerability but the guy is pretty weak to illusions. Baldur literally lost his mind over a few illusions in helhiem. So Ares like he did with kratos in GOW1 final fight can literally trap Baldur in the illusion world and defeat him without killing him. Ares also got a lot of other powers like summoning monsters, changing into a giant, teleportation etc. I really can't see how norse gods are stronger than greeks.

Even though he (Baldur) doesn't feel pain, Greek Kratos would MAKE it hurt, and MAKE him regret ever living... Look at Posiedon... Which is the better opening fight too... And the better boss battle overall, that ACTUALLY felt like a boss battle, instead of just two drunks, (or a drunk, and somebody's uncle going through midlife crisis) fistfighting outside a bar, even though it was outside his home... You could walk into a pub right now, and find at least 15 Baldurs in that same pub... Edit: It's safe to say, After that first excuse for a "boss fight," I knew God of Bore 2018 wasn't for me, and put the game down forever... I was just like "Is that it? IS THAT IT?!!!" GoW1 Kratos is probably the closest that Greek Kratos gets to acting like Norse Kratos, maybe with hints of that one spinoff where he needs help breaking the Furies' illisions as well. Mainly because back then, his wife and daughter's deaths were still comparatively recent, and he still had SOME trust left for the Gods of Olympus as long as they helped him stop Ares and grant him a chance to atone. It wasn't until after they denied him relief from his nightmares that Kratos started hating every last one of them. Contrast Norse Kratos, who's only really as calm as he is after deatroying the Greek World, leaving the Egyptian world comparatively unacathed from his time there during a brief, comics-only adventure and probably thinking "I destroyed one world and avandoned another, now what?" by the time he reached Midgard.

In the game after playing the main storyline, defeating the valkyries was an optional quest but they're quite difficult to beat especially the queen herself which was basically a death sentence so many players (myself included) just didn't, so when asked in the next game, well....
