When you complete God of War 2018, there’s a follow up video that you would only need to see like the first 9 minutes of leading into the game connecting the original saga to this that one if you want to know how he got to the land of Norse mythology (Or you could just watch the whole 40 minutes but that would be like an hour reaction) Personally I consider this the greatest story in all of gaming, it’s a story of revenge and redemption in classic Greek tragedy fashion. Especially to what it has become with the Norse saga. Kratos is the greatest anti-hero. It’s such a shame the upcoming live action series will only covering that part of the story instead of any of the Greek saga since this would be too much for modern audiences.

So correction, at the end he didn’t die. He just gave himself a very severe and near fatal wound. He survives which is why it shows the trail of blood because he dragged himself over the cliff and escaped. The 2018 game takes place roughly 1k years later

This video tells the story in chronological order of the events of Kratos’ life not the order of the games themselves. There’s God of War 1,2,and 3. Two games that were exclusive to the PlayStation Portable which were Chains of Olympus which involves Atlas and Kratos’ daughter, and Ghost of Sparta which sees Kratos trying to find his Brother Deimos. Then there’s God of War Ascension which was the final game before 2018. The order of games chronologically are Acension, Chains of Olympus, GOW 1, Ghost of Sparta, GOW 2, and GOW 3. So many people end up skipping the PSP games and they’re very important story wise for Kratos and are just really fun and entertaining in the first place.

Wanna know something crazy: Gaia the Titan that saves Kratos in God of War 2 is Cronos Mom, Zeus is her Grandson, and Kratos is her Great-Grandson. And Hephaestus is the only god i actually felt sorry for because if he never lied about Pandora he wouldn't be where he was in God of War 3, but like Kratos said, "Hephaestus did what every father should do:Protect his child."

When Deimos fought Kratos, there's actually an achievement after the encounter called "Let Him Win" if I remember correctly. Kratos let himself get beat up it's crazy. Also, great video, man. I love it when people go back and try to understand Kratos' story. He's such a great character, and most don't even know it.

Just a small thing, the first saga of God of War consists of 7 games, not 3. In story order they go as follows. Ascension Chains of Olympus 1 Ghost of Sparta Betrayal 2 3 This is not going into the comics as well, which are part of the story and explain things like how Kratos survived the end of 3 and got involved with the Egyptian pantheon.

GOW 3 had the best opening BY FAR of any game ever. That first like 90 minutes was incredible. It was going to be impossible, but if the rest of the game (Which was good to great btw) kept that same energy it's the greatest game all time.

Glad yall watched this. As a short summary its pretty good for the most part. Its a lotta story and context behind Kratos story, and while the new games are good enough to stand on their own, you won't fully understand and catch everything if you don't know the history behind Kratos. Can't wait for yall to continue the journey! 22:46 Nah Athena was just as manipulative as the rest of the Gods. She lied to him and made him think that if he helped her defeat Ares that she would forgive his sins and relieve him of his nightmares. Then she "saved" him from trying to kill himself and made him take on the position of God of War, a position he didn't really want but chose to take anyway. And she seemingly switched sides in God of War 3 to help Kratos defeat Zeus and the other gods. Which is weird considering she literally sacrificed herself at the end of God of War 2 to save Zeus. And to top it all off, she basically revealed in the end that she just wanted to have the power of Hope that Kratos took from opening Pandora's box. Thats odd considering she was the one who initially told him he had to open Pandora's box in the first game to defeat Ares. Why not just get it herself if she wanted it this whole time? Kratos was right for releasing Hope back into humanity. It was the least he could do anyway after destroying that world.

It’s crazy how Zeus and Zeus’s dad both had the same prophecies that their own children will end up killing them which lead them wanting to prevent their fate, Zeus’s dad trying to eat his babies and Zeus capturing the marked one and keeping him locked up. Good thing Kratos moved out of the greek mythology to Norse or maybe he’ll suffer the Son’s killing their own fathers prophecy like his dad and grandad

They "remastered" GOW 3 and put it on ps4(meaning you can play it on a ps5) its like 15 dollars and to me still the best GOW game. For GOW 1 and 2 plus the 2 psp games and ascension you'd need a ps3 unless you have a gaming PC

I don't know about the psp games, but you can play all the other ones on ps4. I haven't actually checked yet but if you can play GoW 3 on the ps5 then you can probably still play the other ones on there as well. Its for sure on the ps4 though.
