@@loyalist1326 I don't see a sequel being around Kratos, Faye's mural depicts his future as a God of the Norse realm, worshipped by many, that implies that he'll stay there. Santa Monica can always explore prequels, like what did Kratos do between the destruction of Olympus and meeting Faye?, but I hope the story contines forward.

Personally I thought this game was a huge disappointment and a huge step backwards from 2018. The combat was improved for the most part but holy crap was there too much walking around and enemies to fight. Don't get me wrong I like fighting enemies but they were simply there to drag out the play through of the main story. The main story was a big nothing burger for the most part and things happened just to happen. If something conveniently happened they would justify the reasoning by saying it's "giant things", "giant stuff", or "giant powers".
@gregap8282

@@samserrano3966 I agree that the story needed more meat, I still don't understand why we went to Alfheim. The thing about the enemies will always be a matter of personal taste, I actually wanted more fights and more boss fights. And of course 2018 was better, that game was a masterpiece of reinvention, it was going to he impossible to top it. But I'm happy with the game, I'm actually annoyed that I finished it so quickly.

Seeing Kratos almost break down was actually the best scene. Seeing this man who’s younger years were controlled by rage and vengeance, that was hardened through hardships and closed himself off to the world, a man only concerned with his family and wanted to be left alone, seeing that man watch his son grow before his very eyes in a matter of seconds, truly showing more raw emotion then he ever has saying goodbye to the one thing he loves more then anything. THEN seeing the true ending to Faye’s prophecy, that through his actions and leadership, through his tough choices, blood, sweat, and pain, becoming for the first time a god people didn’t fear.. but loved, that hit different. You don’t see his face but he almost starts to cry, he never thought that would, or even could happen for him. Kratos never needed redemption from others, he needed to redeem himself in his own eyes, and being able to see that everyone, is truly grateful for him, who loved him, who were so happy he was around, that cause him to realize that he achieved what he wanted, peace of mind, and redemption of the “Monster” that he believed himself to be.

The amount of character development and growth Kratos had in this game was insane but that part of him becoming a god that people worship and adore was so moving. He has been through and done so much. This game was absolutely amazing it’s not just about Kratos and Atreus it’s about family, how to let go of your hate.. and how sometimes the people closest to us can hurt us the most. I loved the theme of “ there’s always a choice and we can choose to be better” I was really hoping Thor could have found some slight redemption after Odin basically mentally tortured him for years. Everything about these games is so masterfully done, the writing, the characters, the music, voice acting. And of course it’s hands down the most gorgeous game graphically in existence in my opinion. If you had asked me my feelings on the GoW series before 2018, I would have said that I loved the first three games, and I loved the unique takes on Greek mythology, and of course Kratos was a cool character, but as memorable as they were, I wasn’t emotionally attached to the series because he was such a 1-dimensional character. These two last games have elevated the series to one of my all time favorites ever, and absolutely the best storyline, period. An absolute masterpiece. Any awards and recognition SM gets for these games, it will never be enough.

For decades of development from first to third game in franchise as a "Destroyer of Olympus" for being a "Seeker of Vengeance",the fourth game he spent his life in Midgard as a Hermit spending time with his new family fighting his way out from the Aesir as a widow with his son to spread ashes from the highest realm so she posthumously showed them about their fates. The final game, he tries not to avert his prophesied demise and spend more time with his son in hopes for the childs survival without him but his actions changed him to be a better man who is now a Hope bringer of 9 Realms with his statue now prophesied to be erected.

Now that the game is beat, now I’ve got questions. Who called the world serpent when Atreus was sick? What was the red storm?? Will we see Atreus again??? Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z
@chimichangas365
@chimichangas365 Жыл бұрын
First the horn we heard wasn't to call Jormungandr, it was actually the horn Kratos blew to start Ragnarok, next the red storm when Atreus was sick was due to the world's reaction when a god was dying (that's what I heard).

Next game will either be new protagonist with new pantheon, or older Atreus in new lands. Great game but I wish they’d expand on the green mask/energy origin since it’s been established as the central power source for all pantheons.

Is anyone else SUPER sketched out by the way Sindri was acting combined with the fact that he just showed up, hit the marble with his hammer, and dipped the f out? I have a bad feeling there’s more going on with him then we’re being let on. I’m probably overthinking it but his whole character just felt wrong in the end. Like what if he tries to put Odin’s spirit into brok and that wasn’t actually even him getting the funeral at the end it was just a trick.

The only thing I would've added is having Atreus there at Brok's funeral in some capacity. Not with the main group out of respect for Sindri. But maybe at some point, like when Sindri is glaring at Kratos, you hear a mournful wolf howl, and that's what breaks Sindri looking at Kratos before he walks away and vanishes. The howling would be from Atreus in his wolf form. The howl is to say "goodbye" to his lost friends. Brok and Sindri.

At 21:30, it doesn't show Kratos face as he walks towards Freya and Mimir and talks about the "path." I think this was done intentionally as we can all transpose our own faces and emotions onto the scene as to what Kratos is feeling at that moment. Trying to comprehend everything from his son leaving to learning that he can become something greater than the "God Killer." Meanwhile he's trying to put it into words for Freya and Mimir who can see he just saw something unbelievable that shook him. Amazing writint and directing. What a game!

I wonder if, in a future moment, whatever the outcome of Sindri's anger, he and Atreus may feel that keeping Odin's essence in that marble might have been a good idea. Not for mercy, but for knowing where that essence was and not letting it roam anywhere.

Every now and then i wish for a God of War movie. But i realized, if they try to make a God of War movie, they would try to take creative license and make changes to the story. They would "try"to make it better or unique. But they can't do a better job of telling this story. But, they won't do a better job than what the good folks at Santa Monica studios put together here. Ties was nothing short of a masterpiece
