Another tiny detail related to "Tyr" is that he barely eats during table cutscenes, almost as if he pretends to eat. For those who don't know the actual Norse lore, Odin is described to never eat anything and he only drinks wine and mead, while his meals are given to his pet wolves Geri and Freki (who are oddly absent in the game). It's the reason why Odin in game is looking very lean and why Brok has pointed out that "Tyr" makes "passable dirt-soup", because he just doesn't know what food is.

@@Huda88754 I highly doubt poison would do anything to them. Mimir is basically reanimated head and he doesn't have any need for food, drink or sleep anymore. Kratos, Atreus and Freya are gods, with Kratos who died many times in Greek saga. A simple poison cannot kill a god, only brute force like Kratos' or war like Ragnarok.

@@grandclash4976 Those are actually Sköll and Hati, wolves who chase Sun and Moon and who are encountered earlier in Vanaheim. Canonically they are children of Fenrir and who are prophesized to devour Sun and Moon during Ragnarök.

Actually, the reason Brok calls it "dirt-soup" is because, as he puts it, Odin uses "vegetables. From the dirt." in it, not because Odin does not know how to make soup. More like Brok, the lovable goof he was, only used meat, no vegetables, to make soup before.

Of these all I had thought those little tree turtles were baby Charlies, and I did shoot the Ratatoskr chime as Atreus. I never considered you would be able to annoy Ratatoskr by hitting the chime too many times lmao. Heres a fun little easter egg I found: the first time you change the time from night to day with Freya, you can do it again, which will block your path causing you to have to do it a third time, but if you do that Freya will say something along the lines of "why did you change the time again? we needed it to be day" and Kratos awkwardly says "I..... Wanted to see the wolves again........"

When it was said that Kratos killed Baldur, fake Tyr wasn't surprised and didn't ask about it. But he should be, for Baldur was known of his invulnerability to physical and magical attacks.

This is not the only instances. When you know Tyr is Odin there are plenty of scenes where you realize Odin is not even bothering acting. Groa's secret shrine being the prime example. Something interesting I found from the God of War subreddit, the runes in every shrine in this game and the previous one which references Tyr never mention him by name. Odin, Loki and Thor are referenced by name but Tyr is simply called “God of War”. That’s why in Groa’s shrine it says God of War (Kratos) will lead the army against Asgard. I have this ongoing theory that almost every reference to Tyr in the shrines is referring to Kratos. Kratos will become a revered and beloved god because of his role in Ragnarok and rebuilding the realms thereafter (also hinted in the final mural Kratos sees) and he will become a representative of the Nine Realms and visit other mythologies to broker peace and friendly relations with other pantheons like we saw in Tyr’s temple in the previous game. Probably how things play out in the next game.

We are gonna get a dlc or maybe small spinoff like Miles Morales for Atreus in his adventure to find the Giants. And then the sequel to Ragnarok will be both Kratos and Atreus playable characters.

The dwarf on the bridge being Odin can also be confirmed by finding the same body in the Aesir prison at the end of the game. Its the prison odin keeps people he wants to shape-shifting into while keeping them alive, as its a prerequisite for being able to shape-shift into them. You find this dwarfs body in one of the cells, and freya and mimir make a comment on that as well

It actually feels like a full open area, rather than a linear path with some side areas on it, which is what most of the game felt like to me. My only complaint is that they don't give enough hints about being able to undam the river flow. I spent too much time trying to get to the other side of the sinkhole when my companion could have just said something that told me that I needed to look elsewhere.

When in Niflheim clearing the Asgardian prison (Remnant of Asgard) where you find the real Tyr, you actually see the dead dwarf that Odin uses as the disguise in one of the prison cells. Kratos, Mimir, and Freya have a little exchange on how they don’t know who the dead dwarf is.

My guess was that Odin did this after I freed Tyr. In other cells there was a dwarf, and elf, something I can’t remember, and Tyr. They said that Tyr was kept alive because Odin needed him alive in order to disguise himself as Tyr. I thought he would do this for the dwarf and Elvin race too.

A small note on Odin disguising himself on a dwarf, while I am sure without the game director telling us no one would have found out, in hindsight, it might seem possible, in the prison that appears post-game, it is revealed that everyone is there is so Odin can disguise as them, for example, Tyr, and in one of the jail cells IS the dwarf he becomes, he is dead after it falls from Asgard but I assume he was alive during the time Odin pretends to be him.

Everyone keeps saying that Tyr is doing yoga in Vanaheim, but i immediately recognized it as qi gong exercises (from Chinese martial arts, most notably tai chi). I’m not very familiar with yoga, so it might also be a yoga pose. There is a lot of overlap. Either way, yoga points to the Hindu pantheon, while qi gong would suggest China. I’d love to see either one in an upcoming game

Probably only works on KO'd targets, not actual death, besides, Brok already had 25% of his Soul missing, so most likely it would have been ineffective

He didn't have a complete soul from the first time he resurrected him which is why he was blue to begin with and why the mermaid never noticed him remember no soul no afterlife no resurrection

If you look closely at Tyr's arms you can see that he has what I believe to be hieroglyphic tatoos. If there is a dlc that shows Kratos' decision to go to another realm, I think that Tyr will play a part in whether or not Kratos goes to Eygpt.

There’s also a few trolls that you can fight with the “mysterious heirloom”relic one in Midgard in vanaheim there is 2 but you fight them at the same time and the last one is in alfheim

Tyr is doing yoga I think, not tsi chi. If you examine the murals in angrnodas camp you can see a 6 armed warrior wielding different weapons and has someone impaled on one of its swords. My guess is Kali and we may go to Indian mythos next.

Another interesting detail is that, at the end of the game, when Freyr is holding off Ragnarok, he calls Freya, but not by her name we know her as, nor as Frygg. He calls her Nao. I am trying to find where it may tie in, but the only lead I can provide is that a goddess in an MMO loosely based on Celtic mythology has the same name. Hopefully someone can provide better information than I can.

@@hot_soup4319 that’s entirely possible, though Yngvi was commonly known as another of Freyr’s names. But Naó is not any of Freya’s aliases, nor does it seem associated with Norse mythology at all. And given that it’s spoken only once, at the end of the game, and never mentioned again, I can’t help but wonder if its placement was intentional. Like Odin impersonating the dwarf. It just being a random nickname seems to be out of place, given the amount of lore and hidden details we have encountered so far.

Those are some cool details. Considering Týr is doing yoga, it would hint at India for the next game, wouldn't it? That would also be my favourite next pantheon. Kratos going up against Ganesh, Shiva or Kali.

If you find one of the artifact it’s an Egyptian one and kratos writes down saying “that the artifact is a place he had longed to visit for a while” so who knows.

Kratos went to Egypt he didn't stay long though, he fought a Chaos Beast(gargantuan hippo) & he spoke with Thoth the Egyptian God of Wisdom.
