Tyr uses a series of weapons throughout this DLC! The three look like they're from the origin of Japan, Egypt and Aztec. In the video I specifically mention Asia, however that's mostly due to Tyr's choice of outfit. A more detailed breakdown on the weapons and armour is coming! Those weren't Chinese or Japanese weapons. The "chinese" club was an Aztec war club and the "samurai" swords were khopesh Egyptian swords. The last swords was a samurai sword though

One really big question that remains is that the sun god(Tonatiuh) in Aztec mythology is literally the sun so I wonder how they'd do him considering that Helios dying effected him. The sun in Aztec mythology plays a really big role so it would be hard for them to avoid this question

@Wizzo Uhm Wizzo I think you misunderstood the First two Weapons that Tyr pulled out. The First of the Weapons that Tyr pulled out, its bigger than it should be, but that is no doubt an oversized Machuitl, a Meso-American Sword made from Wood and Obsidian Blades, hence the Blood Magic that accompanied it *Salutes my Meso-American Heritage Proudly* That was an Aztec Empire Weapon, which spanned from Mexico to some parts of Central America. The Second set of weapons he drew were Egyptian Khopesh Blades, sickle swords with the blades on the outside of the bend rather than the inside, also they were much bigger than they should be. The Final one, that was an O-Katana, or probably a Tachi, from Japan.

I feel as if Kratos was always destined to be in this position but his point of view about himself made the bigger picture unclear. 27:38 A correction, if you may: Those weapons are the Khopesh, the Egyptian crescent swords. As already mentioned, Tyr is well travelled, which is also backed up with his mural in GOW 2018, with 4 symbols of War on the respective corners of said mural, depicting different civilizations.

We all know Kratos did some good but he did mostly bad and lost his humanity and ultimately in the end tho he kinda put Greece in ruin he in the end did good. The difference he tho Kratos was born and trained to be a warrior from the beginning the dude never been evil the dude always been great husband a great father he loved and respected ppl close to him and ultimately human. The entire Greek mythology was just Kratos on a journey losing that humanity he had and becoming a monster letting his guilt greed vengeance definitely eat him up and consume him. Kratos always reflected on this during Greece and even more now in Norse. Kratos has never been evil. Kratos was always the same. He just lost himself.

Preferably before Kratos's speech to his past self. Could have had the fight start in the Tyr arena, with Tyr stating that it's one last trial to prove he's mastered himself. Though I think a fight of that scale would have to be something like the fight with Baldur. Multiple phases, shifting to different arenas relevant to Kratos's past? Like fighting on the giant sword bridge he used to kill Ares, the Hetachondres Prison from Ascension, Atlantis, Olympus etc.

I personally just love the way how the game series is evolving. After the first 3 main games of the franchise, placed in Greece and filled with gruesome fast combat where we don't have much of a second thoughts we're getting at more slow-paced and personal Scandinavian games like GoW 2018 and Ragnarök. And while playing them and going through the story, the mere *remindings* of anything Greece-related invokes that sticky, looming feeling of something you do *not* want to return to or even think about, because of all over-the-top overwhelming fast-paced cruelty that unfolded back there, in the place of constant suffering, treachery and agony, where arrogant deities enjoys sending hordes of unimaginable monsters to slaughter whole cities and laughts at the people's pain. That's what our protagonist feels. And now, due to changes in our main character and narrative, we're feeling it too. The devs used a vast difference of games' experiences to profit the story. That's a very good writing.

Almost made it to the 3 minute mark - perhaps the fastest I ever went from "get to the point" to "stop talking over the dialogue just to say what the dialogue is saying" to understanding exactly why content creators didn't want their dislike numbers displayed. It took 2 minutes and 58 seconds to realize this was exactly how I felt in 2015 having my kid explain what some kid in his class explained to him what some KZbinr said on a new way to ignite TNT, all while showing me the exact same thing. It was so much extra noise and information. I can maybe understand a description of precisely what people with eyesight see for the blind or something, but why talk over dialogue to describe what is being said? Just let the video play and fill the silence BETWEEN dialogue with input. Sometimes less is more, especially when the additional noise only lessens the content.

Also Atreus said Tyr wielded a spear traditionally hence why he tried to give Fake Tyr a spear when they first met. So I figured his original weapon was a Norse spear. Edit: None of the other weapons had Norse details only golden godly energy.

Man, I wonder if we are ever going to get any of the other mythologies that Kratos will explore at some point. It would be a cool idea maybe get some new weapons along the way or like he has a very important reason to go to another mythology. But obviously, with the progress he’s made emotionally on the inside of himself carried over into the other mythologies too as a journey he hast to go through for the other mythologies whether it is someone he cares about kidnapped into those, or some other reason crossing over. But it’s interesting that Kratos is becoming the new god of war of Nordic Mythology.

Just a few corrections. 1. Helios and Pandora’s deaths happened AFTER the death of Ares. It was during the events of GOW3 where he killed his father Zeus. 2. I don’t know the name of the “Asian weapon” was but it is actually of Mayan Origin. 3. The “Dual-Wielding Katanas” are actually Khopesh of Egyptian origin.

Funny how the story seems to suggest Kryatos killed Hephaestus and Pandora to open her box and kill Ares. This is not the case Kryatos knew nothing about the box's origins until he was instructed to seek it a second time in God of War III. In this game, he kills Hephaestus and then Pandora to open the box so that he could defeat Zeus.

Perhaps he has a personal connection to the realms unknown to anyone else…” Other than that, maybe he uses the realm-travel by using the Johtunheim crystals in his eyes? 😅

Could definitely see/ want to see more of Tyr, perhaps playing a not insignificant role in a future game, possibly being the reason how/why Kratos travels to different Mythologies, whether Mayan, Egyptian, Asian, Elysium or somewhere else entirely. 😅

Kratos killed both Helios via ripping off his head and Hefestus via stabbing him in the neck with his own machine to gain skills and weapons to kill Zeus, not Ares. Both happened in GOW3.

This DLC was free if Santa Monica was giving the time to work on a full price DLC I belive it would blow all are mind like a Greek Reboot of the first GOW

You got the weapon origins wrong bud. The club Tyr used was an Aztec war club. The dual swords were Egyptian Khopesh swords.

sony did a great job with this DLC but its not free you have to buy the game in order to download it..but if you already have the game you dont have to pay any extra money. A++ for this DLC
