I am not fan of dlcs. I prefer main campaign of every games. But this dlc was easily the best dlc I ever played. Even though it’s short but they still able to do so much with this dlc. I thought it’s just gonna have few enemies, but all the locations are the same locations from the previous story. But they did so much that I genuinely was shocked. They literally gave you blade of Olympus. Brought back a character from Greek mythology. Brought back the greek mythology locations. EVEN brought back the original enemies from the OG gow. The story was also surprisingly very engaging. Made me excited for the future of this series.

I really don’t want to play only as Kratos for the next installment. Because I don’t want his character development to backslide. I want another epic war story but not at the expense of this beautiful completed story arc for Kratos. It’s time for Kratos to rest and pass the torch to another angry powerful god. (Not Loki tho he’s too Norse and I’m done with the Norse mythology it’s time for Mayan or Egypt.)
@codecatx5 Жыл бұрын
Definitely use the blades way more in this dlc. I think the reason the world was unaffected by the death of the Aesir gods is partially because the Norse world is compartmentalized into the 9 realms and because as Helios said being a god of war is a “solemn metaphysical role” meaning ie the disastrous effects of killing type Greek gods came from their metaphysical link to their role. Hell when Kratos killed Ares there was no disaster to follow because he was linked to or responsible for real phenomena.

@@CosmicEye597 that's what should have happened at the end of the dlc. Kratos talking to his younger self and boom Carson voice meets judge, and as a past the torch, a farewell to a legend 👏🏻 and an apology for firing him without even letting him know. See like I understand what they tried to do, and I liked this DLC, but I really feel like Kratos moved past his sins too easily. Like "oh I hope I can be better that I was", no man, he condemned millions of innocents utterly unrelated to his vengeance to death and suffering, and That's therapy session are not gonna change this by just giving him the perspective of "but you helped the people before when you saved them from a barbarian horde of thousands". Well, he then unleashed plagues, floods, famines, storms and the undead and god knows what else else upon them so no, I am afraid that no amount of good Kratos did in Greece will undo the fact that he is solely responsible for its complete ruin. Kratos can never be a hero, anti hero perhaps, but they are trying to hard to push this hero narrative that just does not work for me. I also do not think Greece is done with Kratos yet. When they mention the rebuilding of Greece I expect that some of the surviving local gods are responsible. As far as I know for example, Kratos never killed Apollo, Artemis, Hestia, Demeter and Dionysus/Pan. These would make sense as aiding rebuilding since Apollo is a good of many good things, amongst them light, the sun, healing and the arts, Dionysus/Pan and Demeter both associated with the harvest and nature and Hestia being associated with family. Artemis as a goddess of the hunt is so perfectly suited to taking the role of tracking Kratos, either for revenge or to retrieve the Hope he "stole" from Pandora's Box, only to see how he has genuinely changed. I think there is a lot of potential in introducing some of the Greek gods never slaid and bring Kratos to terms with his past through them.

the thing that disappointed me the most with gow 2018 and ragnarok is the number of gods/heroes that we meet, the story seems to have been half written during the adventure of Kratos and Atreus . I very seriously hope that Kratos will no longer be the protagonist of other games, that we can appreciate other mythology with Atreus. in Greece we were in the foreground from start to finish, there I have more the impression that we are witnessing the middle and the end.

This is a really, really, REALLY bad take. Just because it’s not open world, they don’t care?
