On one hand, we have a game that's as gamey as a game can be, impeccable combat that cares about its gameplay the same as if not more than the story, while on the other hand a game that sacrifices it uniqueness in chase of narrative maturity. One game that lets you skip all the cutscenes if you want, or if you have played it for the 100th times, has parry that takes actual skill in timing your attack hit box the same as the enemies, has 4 playable characters, each with its own unique and well polished gameplay (except V but Itsuno deserves some praise for willing to go bold in a game which is rare nowadays), where every move has fixed range that you can reliably dodge and counter, has a double jump button, camera not fixed on your back, multiple well crafted boss fights, a highly entertaining NG+ experience, and many more. While one game, that character levels decide what move can be block or not, where the camera stucks to your back, where enemies constantly shooting projectiles off-screen with just a little arrow to warn, no jump let alone double jump, where each move has auto assist in range, so when the mob throws an attack half a mile away you'll have to think that it'll hit you, limited amount of skills can be equip, and has a cooldown, unskipable walking segments, and the game couldn't even trust you to jump across a small gap that they need a separated context only button just for it. It is clearly which game is superior as a game here.

@Lucile Rose for me, devil may cry is the epitome of a game, it's like when you were kids, games doesn't need deep narrative or extreme graphics quality, we just replaying it cause it is fun, and devil may cry, is all about having fun.

@Lucile Rose you might wanna try monster hunter, also made by Capcom. It literally does almost no more effort in story telling than "hey we discovered a new monster, go kill it, hunter!" But they compensate it with tons of gameplay value. It's one of the greatest games ever made

You definitely get more of a feel for how strong kratos is through visuals, haptics in controller, and sound effects, it creates a great sense of strength. While Dante and Vergil are more agile, sleek, and faster. Creating more of an athletic/ explosive type of vibe. Both games/ series are amongst some of the best of all time.

Oh runic and any other perks you score in Gow is awesome yet the Sparda family from Dmc5 has been on a whole different level. Kratos would have a chance back when the Dmc twins were young in 3rd game. I mean come on the finishing moves mixed with the combo's in Dmc5 are fluent but explosive than Gow.

Really the gameplay of dmc is better?? Emo characters with hack and slash combat the gameplay is linear with barely any enemy variety compared to superior gow just keep spamming one attack the gameplay is easy af for me dmc is overatted the entire franchise has bad characters gameplay and combat (Vergil being the only excpetion cuz i liked him as a character)

@@saswag2004 a axe that every game could have that has one special thing that is throw and retrievable (just a terrible bow with one shot that has a curve trajectory and you can barely aim at something more than 15m aways) it is in fact less creative than the blades of chaos, while the other hand a motorcycle weapon that almost no game would dare to do anything similar, with bad ass moveset, this is the game that cares more about gameplay than a "cinematic experience in the shelf of a game" GOW4 is
