God Protects Hagar and Ishmael l Voddie Baucham
Genesis 21:8-21:
8 And the child grew and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned. 9 But Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, laughing. 10 So she said to Abraham, “Cast out this slave woman with her son, for the son of this slave woman shall not be heir with my son Isaac.” 11 And the thing was very displeasing to Abraham on account of his son. 12 But God said to Abraham, “Be not displeased because of the boy and because of your slave woman. Whatever Sarah says to you, do as she tells you, for through Isaac shall your offspring be named. 13 And I will make a nation of the son of the slave woman also, because he is your offspring.” 14 So Abraham rose early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, along with the child, and sent her away. And she departed and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
15 When the water in the skin was gone, she put the child under one of the bushes. 16 Then she went and sat down opposite him a good way off, about the distance of a bowshot, for she said, “Let me not look on the death of the child.” And as she sat opposite him, she lifted up her voice and wept. 17 And God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. 18 Up! Lift up the boy, and hold him fast with your hand, for I will make him into a great nation.” 19 Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink. 20 And God was with the boy, and he grew up. He lived in the wilderness and became an expert with the bow. 21 He lived in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother took a wife for him from the land of Egypt.

This message did alot for me today. Me and my girlfriend are new followers in christ. Alot of her friends have been saying they are super Christians and she's been getting discouraged. I told her ask them what makes them super Christians and if all you hear is i...i....i...i...i... we got our answer.

JM let me ask you something? Are you and your girlfriend screwin'? I ask bc I wanted to make sure you were a christian. Also, tell your GF to tell her friends who are super christians that unless they are virgins and have not had unprotected sex with two different (hopefully not that at the same time) men, then they are hoes too. Everyone has two opportunities to have favor which relates 90% to relationships. He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. So everyone has two opportunities for a favorable marriage if they are both Believers. The first is with virginity and the 2nd is when a person accepts Christs. If a virgin woman (or man) gets married when a virgin and accepts Christ they have double favor. Very few find it bc of promiscuity. So unless all ya'll holy none of you probably are, are you?

Steve what does this mean to you? Trust no man - Jerm.17:5. And do you associate it with the words of Messiah in Matt.24 - many will come and deceive many but the elect cannot be deceived. Obviously you are deceived by this brotha's speech. And that is bc you are deceived by your sins. aND THAT IS WHY YOU DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE and agree with him. BC you are still in your sin. Understand that the Word of the Lord declares you go from evil to evil instead of faith to faith. And that is bc you did not repent of your sins or you would have forsaken them by now. This is the same for all christians most of who are tares. But a bit of advice. Don't worry about other sinful ppl getting saved. That is what you do while waiting to be saved. If you are still in your sins and the wages of sin is still death then who are you getting saved if you are not and your reward is them getting eternal life? Just saying it is time for you to start knowing for yourself and nobody else -Jerm.9:23,24.

It's possible that Ishmael had delayed puberty and if that's the case then he's still a child biologically regardless of his age and so the description would fit. A modern day example would be someone like Ralph macchio. Also they lived much longer in those days so it makes sense if they aged slower

And in regards to marriage, he appointed one man and one woman in Holy Matrimony.
