On Tuesday May 15th, my 78 year old father was laying in his hospital bed, in terribly rough shape. I left thinking he might not make it. He told me that night he cried out for Jesus to come rescue him. I saw him 2 days later on Thursday, and it was night and day. He was awake, alert, well, and perfectly calm. He told me on Wednesday morning a man came to see him and brought him the Host. He said to me "Mickey, I cried out to the Lord and my Lord came running to me."

I believe it. My LGBTQ son was having heart surgery. Instead of sitting at the hospital, I went to Adoration. I CRIED to the Lord to take care of my adult child, he has been away from the Sacraments, but I said, Lord, You handle everything. The next day, my son saud that just before he was taken to surgery, 2 Catholic women cane, prayed over him and gave him communion. Some people may be angry that my child received unworthily, but I see Jesus saying, I AM THE LORD, I HO WHERE I PLEASE AND I KNOW MY SHEEP. Praise be to our loving God.

@@davidcole1475 God has brought you here, to the good and true teachings of His Church. Thank God! But do not “bring a slanderous judgement against them”, which even God’s angels did not dare to do (2 Peter 2:11). You have not spoken what is true concerning the Catholic Church, for this is the Church that traces its spiritual, theological, and ecclesial origin back to Jesus and the Apostles-“the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone” (Ephesians 2:20). Jesus Himself has promised that no evil will prevail against the Church and that the Holy Spirit will always be with this Church He established: “I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”; “I am with you always, even to the end of the age”; “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever-the Spirit of truth.” (Matthew 16:18; 28:20; John 14:16-17).

Yes, we need more like this. Clarity is important. But so is curiosity. There is far more to the story of Noah than anyone has asked about, and it points to the killing of a competing species some 30,000 years ago -- the "daughters of men." Discovering this made the conclusion that "God is LOVE" seem imminently more obvious. 😎♥✝🇺🇸💯

I am always struck by the couple of time where God tells someone not to pray for another. I actually find comfort in it and think it affirms the power of intersession. Intersession is SO powerful, that when intersession for a person is contrary to God's Will, He must proactively caution against it.

Can't help but recall Nina Simone singing Leonard Cohen's lyrics, "Jesus was a sailor," in the song Suzanne, and El Greco has an image of Christ on the cross looking very much like a mainsail... //7:10 the Washington Generals ALWAYS lose to the Harlem Globetrotters cuz as their name clarifies, the Globetrotters traveled the world and are thus more catholic 😆🤣

Nonsense. "God is love" must be harmonized with "God is a consuming fire." They are totally opposite and cannot be made to be the same. Instead of attempting to turn punishment into love one must view both love and punishment as part of conditional covenant promises. Therefore "God is love" is not a good hermeneutic to view scripture from. Rather God as the covenant keeper is. Covenant is the overriding hermeneutic in which both love and justice can be given without contradiction.

The OT has a psalm that explains how God sees people, that he knew you before you were born. He doesn’t see time unfold in a linear fashion but can see the present, past and future all at once. God doesn’t just see you before you were born but exactly who you will be when you die as a geriatric adult. Compare this to you watching a movie … when you watch the same move multiple times … not only do you know the characters at the start of the movie, you now exactly what they will do to the end credits. Similar to God you know precisely what people will do evil things and how things will unfold. You will know how people’s action affect others in the story. In fact you would judge the characters and their actions. You know these things as facts because you know how it plays out preciously every time you watch it … even though the characters of the movie if they were to become animated would proclaim to you how dare you judge them for things they haven’t done …. Even as they proceed to act out each of their parts to the story exactly as you knew they would. God doesn’t see a baby he sees the entire life of people and how they impact others and how subsequent generation grow and treat the world. You watch the news every year and see stories where some monster killed multiple people. Then you learn how that person was mistreated all their lives and had parents that were cruel and mean. An entire family of crooks raising kids who become crooks. We see this happening so often that society has the phrase the Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. If we can so easily judge the lineage of a family who so clearly doesn’t comply with what we call good in society… how would we judge if we were able to see an entire city of people and how they act with others in the world … knowing every single person and what they will be and how each generation will go until the end of time. If an entire city is full of deplorable people and always will be and you know that this city full of evil people will absolutely wreck others they encounter and completely destroy the balance of the world … so certainly that nothing can be done to stop it by any other civilized people on earth, and God knows this. Why would you be angry if he interceded and used his power to destroy those people to preserve the rest of humanity from an evil the rest of the world would be unable to stop. Everyday people wonder why God allows evil to happen. How some can clearly do evil and not be struck down. We do this with one person and one instance in their lives and make such a judgment that they should cease to be that God should strike them down when we have no idea what impact that person will have over their entire life. So I find it odd how you could be so judgemental on what God may do given his ability to see everything humanity does and the impact of each of us on an entire species to its end of days. Especially since you yourself judge people everyday and convict them with your limited point of view and you having no clue how that person will impact the world and how the people that person influenced will impact the world and so on until the end of time.

Man destroys himself. It’s pride that attributes our punishment to the justice server, not the actor. Allegory aside, the reformed often see redemption in nothing more than becoming my best self, b/c ultimately I’m responsible for all my actions. Yes, bad things happen to good people as we’re fallen and broken; but my choice in how I react is fueled by grace. I’ve seen men dark from despair and unredeemable, continuing to torture themselves and others .. until the mercy of forgiveness; and the responsibility of owning one’s junk-humility of asking for forgiveness-puts the want to destroy in my hands, not God’s.

If God isn't good, then all is for nothing. The reason there is good, and there is evil, the exact basis of which you judge God, is so that people can see their own sin, corruption, and watch it lead all the way to its ultimate conclusion. We all know that things would go a whole lot smoother if everyone worked together perfectly and no one got angry or greedy or self pitying, ever, then a lot of the worlds evil would disappear overnight. The problem is, you can't have good, or nice, or kindness, without having a counterpart. That counterpart is only an absence of what is good and true. Rudeness is deliberately being unkind. Mean is moving in the opposite direction of nice. It's perfectly acceptable, and actually necessary to put "the mobs" ideas on the back burner, read the Bible, learn the context, and realize where you agree and disagree and learn, rather than point fingers and judge, because Jesus says himself "how do you know what is good?, follow the commandments, and repent" and all over the new testament Saint Paul writes that you shouldn't put down a brother for doing something you think he shouldn't, because you probably have 100 things you do, that he wouldnt. So you live and let live, that's one of the first things.

@calebhenderson3817 if christians did the live and let live that would be nice, but if you look at a map of the world and basically everywhere you find christianity you can be rest assured there was an indigenous spirituality, these people for the best part never asked to have the christian god shoved down their necks, you christians should all have to understand the harm your arrogant religion did to the 1000s of indigenous spiritual paths it basically intentionally destroyed, in my country they were responsible for all but destroying a 65,000 year old culture, think about all of the spiritual knowledge that was intentionally destroyed, an incomprehensible loss to humanity, imagine if a foreign religion did this to your culture, walk a mile in someone else's shoes. I get the good evil , but your lying god tells us over and over he's a god of infinite love, but if you read the old testament he's basically a bastard, he punishes humanity for breaking his commandments but yet breaks quite a few himself, good old do as a say not as I do type, I know plenty of people like that and they're not particularly nice people I choose to keep my distance from, the first four commandments he tells you his a childish insecure narcissist, step back and view your religion from outside of the bubble, you may be challenged.

That’s what we call “demigod” that the ego-drama I know when I’m living in the Theo-drama and surrender that I am not God, I’m not perfectly ok on a path of “spirituality” I am not in relationship with a “nice” god but a merciful god who extends grace and who is perfect and I fully recognize I’m not it nor am I perfect… I am forgiven!

The first display of anger (and wrong at that) is at Genesis 4:8, in which Cain murders his brother Abel, because Cain failed to heed God's counsel to get control of his temper, becoming angry when God looked with favor upon Abel's offering while rejecting Cain's (due to his loveless or hostile disposition), whereby the account says: "Then Jehovah (God's name, see Isa 12:2; 26:4, KJV) said to Cain (through his angelic representative, called "the Word", John 1:1, 2, and called Jesus Christ): “Why are you so angry and dejected ? If you turn to doing good, will you not be restored to favor ? But if you do not turn to doing good, sin is crouching at the door, and its craving is to dominate you; but will you get the mastery over it ?”(Gen 4:2-7) Cain never got "the mastery over" sin ("sin", Hebrew chattah, meaning "an offense, and its penalty, an offender", "a sinner") nor of the anger it brings, but was banished to "the land of Exile (Hebrew Nowd, meaning "wandering, vagrancy", see also Ps 56:8)", a location from where he and his parents of Adam and Eve were living, some distance "east of Eden".(Gen 4:15, 16) Imperfect people often get wrongly angry, lashing out at others without proper cause, because they believe this: "There is a way that seems RIGHT to a man, but in the end it leads to DEATH."(Prov 14:12) On the other hand, Jehovah's anger is always righteous, always perfectly controlled, never being "hot-tempered".(see Prov 19:19, that says "The hot-tempered man will pay the penalty; If you try to spare him, you will have to do it again and again") The Bible speaks of ' the burning anger ("burning anger", Hebrew charown, H2740, that is from H2734, "charah", meaning "a burning of anger", and "always used of God's anger", Blue Letter Bible) of Jehovah ', some 38 times in the Hebrew Scriptures (commonly, but inaccurately called "the Old Testament") This is seen as at Exodus 15:3, 7, whereby after the destruction of Pharaoh and his army at the Red Sea in 1513 B.C.E., Moses sang a song with the words: "Jehovah is a powerful warrior. Jehovah is his name......In your great majesty you can throw down those who rise up against you; You send out your burning anger, it eats them up like stubble." Of Jehovah's "burning anger", it was rarely "a rescue operation", but rather is his judgment or justice rendered against those who opposed him (such as the nation of Egypt at Exodus 15:7), or rebelled against him, such as Jehovah's own people, the Israelites, who in less than three months after their release from Egyptian slavery, had murmured against Jehovah three times about water and food, and then created the false god of the golden calf.(Ex 15:22-25; 16:2-4; 17:1-4; 32:1-6) At Exodus 32:7-10, Jehovah's angel told Moses while on Mt Sinai, that "your people, whom you led up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves. They have quickly deviated from the way I commanded them to go. They have made for themselves a statue of a calf," "and they keep bowing down to it and sacrificing to it and saying, ‘This is your God, O Israel, who led you up out of the land of Egypt.’” Jehovah went on to say to Moses: “I have seen that this is an obstinate people. So now let me be," "and I will exterminate ("exterminate", Hebrew kalah, meaning "to end, to cease, be finished, perish, consume, make clean ridden, to destroy, exterminate") them in my burning anger ("burning anger", Hebrew charah, meaning "to blaze up, of anger, zeal, jealousy"), and let me make a great nation from you (Moses) instead.” So, Jehovah's "burning anger" is sent against all who oppose him, abandon him without remorse, who push falsehoods "galore", such as Christendom, that pushes "the Holy Trinity", hell fire, immortality of the soul, the cross, purgatory, Christmas, Easter, birthdays, transubstantiation, immersion of the world of politics, a clergy-laity class, etc. At Revelation 17:16, 17, it informs a sincere Bible reader of what Jehovah's "burning anger" will bring on the religions of the world called Babylon the Great (Rev 17:5), with Christendom a major part, saying: "And the ten horns (member nations of the United Nations) that you saw and the ("scarlet-colored") wild beast (the United Nations, Rev 17:3), these will hate the prostitute and will make her devastated and naked," "and they will eat up her flesh and completely burn her with fire. For God put it into their hearts to carry out his thought, yes, to carry out their one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast (the United Nations as one composite body), until the words of God will have been accomplished."

What a 'human' God you worship. One full of emotions and desires. A God with 'wrath'? That's just a primitive tribal god - nothing to do with the One.

the most idiotic excuse ,you know what god could do with his anger, shove it.The rescue operation should be at a children's cancer hospital ,or the 20,000 plus children who die every month before the age of 5.

_"God is love. That's all God is,"_ said Barron of the God said to have killed nearly every human on earth horribly by drowning without warning, due to humans being exactly as an all-knowing god would've known they'd be. The cognitive dissonance, guys.

Bishop Barron is too intelligent to be using the anthropmorphizing of God portrayed in the Old Testament. Though it was appropriate for the magico-mythic mentality of Biblical times it is out of step with modern scholarship and today’s seminarians deserve better from their teachers. One of the single largest sources of atheism is what Thomas Merton called “stupid theism” like this.
