This really hit me. I'm 47 now. At 19 years of age I sustained a head injury which resulted in a mild brain injury which prevented me from working in engineering. I've been unemployed for over 20 years. I've suffered with mental illness ever since then, as well as alcoholism. People are reluctant to want to mix with you when you're unemployed or experience depression or anxiety. Recently ive got back into hobby woodworking. A lot of my furniture gets donated to op shops affiliated with churches. I just hope and pray society may accept that I contribute to society as well as the average taxpayer. 🙏

He had been away from the Sacraments for 67 yrs. A good friend, got round him to visit Knock. He said as soon as he stood on this Holy ground he felt a great "weight lift off his shoulders and as free as a bird". He went to Confession soon after and died a year later. Forgive me for I had forsaken you, raged at you, blasphemed against you, denied you to those around me, raised my family and babies in desertion of your love. Have mercy on me my Lord. I will never forsake you again. Your will and word is on my lips EVERYDAY. I am persecuted everyday for it but I fear not. For thou are with me. I am here my Lord. I heard your call. Forever yours. The healing power is not just in the Bible: I had some heart issues and had gone to church to a ceremony where as the priest walked by, I touched the tassels on his cloak. So relevant to what I was just thinking about. I'm an Illinois born and raised man. I'm living in Korea now, and there are so many who are spiritually dead around me. Especially in my workplace. It pains me when they ask me every year if Good Friday is Easter because it's the last workday before Easter and I bring in gifts every year. It pains me that some have thought it was an American holiday. I try to be the salt of the earth for them and to bring my faith to them. I pray the rosary three times a week for their revival. I pray each day, throughout the day for Jesus to come to visit them through the people and the circumstances they encounter. I pray that the seeds I sow will be planted in good soil and yield a great harvest amongst them. I stay in that job and I believe Jesus is calling me to be a beacon for Him to them. May God give me His wisdom and perseverence on this mission He has me on.

Thank you Bishop... I have lots to write.. I am 56, an early retired Chemistry professor (28years of teaching in a technical institute). Very few memories keep coming up ,this is one of them. As a child of 11-12, during the Catechism class ( I was in a salesian school) the teacher asked us to illustrate and write about faith. And I drew this pic, the woman touching the tassel of the Lord. I remember the words I wrote . " If I could touch..... That's the faith I had... Unfortunately last year I lost my only younger brother.. and I lost myself... Alienation.. it's been a long time yet I couldn't... Bishop after a long time I am trying to listen to make up for the lost time. I started it a few days ago.. Thank you 🙏 Today is my turning point..

Good morning Bishop Barron. The sun rises here after weeks and weeks of rain but today indeed is a great day doubled with your Sunday sermon to us. Faith is the one thing that sometimes I can see functioning in me but sometimes - it is not just there for me. I always feel alone with my struggles that even if I shout till the end of the mountains up in the sky I still feel no one is there. But as I said thank you so much for your timely weekly sermon posted here - I could feel someone out there believing and listening to me. I pray for you and all our church authorities to be always there for us to believe that Someone out there believes in us and loves us. May God bless you.

Bishop - you have a beautiful way of revealing that the Word is alive - unchanging - applicable always. God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. This passage made me understand the paradox that there is no justice without mercy. God continually offers mercy after mercy within the context of the justice that unites us in right relationship with Him. It is apparent that you surrender your will, your intellect, your heart, and all of yourself to God - because your life is a light shining in a world where darkness so easily creeps in to blind us to Gods will and desire to be close to us. I pray for you because I am so grateful that you are part of the body of Christ with me - you’re a guide on my pilgrimage home. May the peace of Jesus Christ be with you - in your heart/mind and all decisions you make.
