David, could you please pray that I have the right words to say? On Sept 29th, I am sitting down with a 20 something gal who believes that she's trans. I met her a year ago at my small rural local drug store/grocery store. She's a cashier and a stocker. After a couple visits I couldn't help but notice that not only did she never make eye contact or speak a single word to customers, but that she appeared to be on the verge of tears. So the next time she checked out my groceries, I said to her, "You look like you're having a very bad day, and I'm so very sorry". She looked up at me for the first time ever and tears welled up in her eyes as she shook her head yes. I wanted to wrap my arms around her, but she didn't know me from Adam. After that I started making a point of looking for her when I visited the store. Although she continued to do everything to avoid eye contact with anyone in the store, when I saw her would call out her nametag name (which has a he/him pin attached to it), and say hi as I waved. To which she lights up like a kid in a candy store, a huge beautiful smile bursts forth, her eyes light up like she's seen Santa Clause. She rushes to me enthusiastically if she has the opportunity to briefly chat, otherwise she waves to me like she's flagging down a car. I've learned that she lives with her grandpa and is going to school majoring in psychology. I am a retired career long social worker, and several weeks ago I asked her if she would like to meet me at our local hole-in-the-wall coffee shop and I could share my experiences in the social work field. She could hardly contain her joy, and asked if we meet the following day. Unfortunately, I had company coming and was booked the next week, and after that she was leaving for college. I gave her my number and asked if she could text me when she'll be back in town. Low and behold, she reached texted me a few days ago to announce that she's coming home at the end of the month, and asked if can we get together. For the last three years, I have spent at least a hour or two every day studying the trans phenomenon, which I think I have a pretty good grasp on how. Add to this, my educational and professional experience, I feel confident at my ability to be a much needed supportive person in her life, and someone who will truly listen to her. I do not plan to ask her any personal questions about trans, or God, and only take that particular subject where she chooses to lead me on our first several visits. I can tell that she is desperately lost and alone, and I'm willing to do what I can to fill the dark void in her life. Could you please pray that God gives me the words and that I'm able to very gently plant the right seeds in his timing? If you have words of wisdom, I would be grateful if you would share them with me as well.

Maverick I just prayed for you and this young woman. Thank you for asking me to pray for you and her. It sounds like she trusts you and they fact yes you were willing to reach out & seek her out whenever u were in the store is amazing. Keep doing what your doing and ask God to give you the words to say to her and He will. You were Jesus hands and feet to her and showed her the love of Jesus by doing what you did and she responded. That’s what my two close friends did for me. Thank you for sharing this with me and God bless you :)
