The parable of the talent can not even be used to justify Oyedepo's action. In the parable of the talent, Jesus Christ talked about business, not ministry. If you invest in a business and the business is not yielding fruit, there's no problem in closing it down because the primary reason for starting out a business is to make money. In ministry however, the primary purpose is to spread the gospel. In summary, many ministries have lost purpose and are now pursuing money better than many circular business.

If you claim that the pastors fired were blatant failures, why not call them back and teach them more in the word of God. Why don't you pray for them and help them to repentance. Are the pastors not a human being with a soul too?. Why do you have to sack and dismiss them from the church. Isn't the gospel all about preaching the gospel and looking for lost souls?. The needs to get an organized management system like the orthodox churches. Employing people is not the problem but been able to forsee that there will be enough income to pay salaries and keep the church running. So many of those sacked pastors I am sure do not have any handwork to fall back on. Poverty is the cause of all these problems. I have not seen anybody working in an oil company no matter their religiousity resign their work and become a full time pastor in a church. It's unfortunate that Living Faith didn't handle the situation well that there name is now dragged to the mud
