Rabbi, you are so enlightened it almost scares me. You used an example of missing a flight and then later it crashed. In 1988 something similar happened to me. I was in the Army and we were flying from Fgt Huachuca AZ to Yuma. I and 3 other guys were pulled off of the flight to drive support trucks. Since these helicopters were the Vietnam Era helicopters, I wanted to fly on them very badly. It was also the last flights for them, then they were being retired. Two hours later, the helicopter I was supposed to be on crashed, killing 13 men, all my friends or colleagues. I know God has saved my life a minimum of 7 times, maybe more. The bad thing about it, it took me until last year to realize God has been watching out for me all these years. I know God has been calling me (now I do), I just never realized it until last year. I have asked myself why? Why has God saved me? I don't deserve it.

I love hard messages. We cannot take God and His word lightly. Correction in a believers life is important.
