Thank you for posting this! I personally know Shawn Bolz. I worked with his church back in late 2000’s before I moved! He has been accurate as a prophet! He personally spoke something God told him about me that I NEVER told anyone! It was more of a confirmation that I was on the right path rather than a directional word. I have also commented on many of these “exposing” videos about how it is important to test everything that is prophesied to us! I personally have gotten prophesies from well known prophetic individuals that didn’t confirm what God was telling me, so I simply put it aside and carried on and waited to see if anything came of it! I didn’t follow it if it didn’t confirm what God was already leading me to do. Finally thank you for being honest about your failures and redemption! We definitely need to remember these people are human and have the ability to fail! I don’t think they all had ill intentions when they did these horrible things, they just fell into temptations like all of us have done before! “Judge not, les you be judged”

there's a spiritual truth that the ones on the forefront battling for the Kingdom like evangelists, pastors, prophets and apostles, worship leaders and anyone doing the works of God by faith, those are the ones who are most heavily attacked and tempted by the enemy and so we need to lift them up in prayer more. and it's absolutely true what you said about any one of us could have fallen in the exact same way had we been the ones in that position pressing forward the Kingdom of God and the Gospel. With that said, we've got to confess our sins more quickly and readily one to another and we've got to call people out more aggressively when we witness them living in open sin or hidden secret sin. otherwise it grows rampant and Destroys the reputation of God's people.. it's somewhat of a paradox, the more you play it safe and live a quiet life the less you live by faith and the less you may fall into temptation of something super evil but you also have less impact on the world for evangelism and ministry. whereas those who are pushing the limits of faith and out preaching and worshipping and sacrificing the most, they become the most vulnerable and get the most attention from the enemy. I think the answer is the entire Body of Christ needs to come together and function with more unity and love and support each other more in prayer and discernment and discipleship. We gotta stop lifting up one leader above others and idolizing them. that's my take...but open minded to other's opinions too...

Thank you! I have been commenting on many of these “exposing” videos the same thing! While we need to step away from this “leadership” worship and start listening to the Holy Spirit more, we also need to be more forgiving to those leaders who have fallen to temptation! It’s been frustrating to see this go on because I personally know one those who have been “exposed”! They have been a positive influence on my life back when I worked with them but I haven’t worked with them in years! I have no idea what could have happened to them other than they fell into the “performance” demands in the charismatic culture!

It's so easy for every one of us to be a pharisee, isn't it?

We’ve all been perpetrators of sins. We may not all be leaders over a congregation but if we’re parents we are leaders over our children. Have we as parents ever provoked our children to anger or wrongfully accused them of doing something they didn’t do? Have those of us under authority at work ever cursed our boss in our hearts or talked bad about them behind their backs? Have we ever acted selfishly towards our loved ones or friends? We are all guilty. We all deserve incredibly serious judgment and humiliating exposure. We want sinful leaders to be publicly exposed and humiliated but do we want Christ to publicly reveal our own past or present sins and watch as the church humiliates us online and goes into all the gory details of our failures? Do we want to experience the same unbearable weight of shame these leaders are facing for our own sins? Do we want our families to have to take on the shame and humiliation of our failures? Hearing about these exposures should be forcing us to our knees in deep repentance and cries for mercy. We should be like the tax collector who beat his chest and cried out for mercy but so often we are the self-righteous Pharisee thanking God we aren’t as sinful as the shameful tax collector. We are so blind to our own sinfulness and the incredible mercy Christ shows towards us when we fail and so many can’t extend mercy or compassion towards fellow believers. It should be a fearful thought that we will be judged by the same standards we use when judging others.

Respectfully, I think you’ve missed how big this is and the true toll it’s taken on the people of God.

Is it too big for the blood of Christ? What’s the point of the cross if not to save sinners? Christ didn’t die to save innocent victims from their oppressors. He died to save oppressors and abusers and the wicked from the judgement they deserve. Christ will return to save the oppressed from the oppressors but the blood He willfully shed on the cross wasn’t on behalf of the guiltless. He was the only guiltless Person to ever exist and you and I were His enemies and yet He gave Himself for us because He delights in showing mercy to the wicked. He even showed mercy to a prophetess who was teaching His Church to commit all kinds of sexual immorality and idolatry. If you read His letters to the seven churches in Revelation you will see His profound mercy towards wicked believers, including leaders in the Church. He rebuked them in order to turn their hearts back to Him. And we as the Church are not honest about our own sins. Jesus said if we lust we are committing adultery. Have you ever lusted? He said if we’ve been angry at someone without cause then we are committing the sin of murder. Have you ever been unrighteously angry with someone? We say adultery is a serious offense and even quote Jesus saying lust is the same as adultery but do we hold ourselves to the same standards? We then tell ourselves that it’s different for us because it’s leaders who are judged more harshly. That’s true, but that doesn’t mean non-leaders won’t be judged at all or somehow aren’t accountable for their own sins. Look at Peter. While he was an apostle he treated gentiles like second class believers and wouldn’t even sit with them. Today it would be like a white pastor refusing to sit with black believers and treating them like they weren’t really equal in the Body of Christ. If a story like that came out today we would say that racist pastor isn’t fit for ministry and should never have authority over believers. The problem is, when Paul rebuked Peter for his racism, Peter didn’t lose his authority. Peter was an apostle anointed by the Lord even while living out his racism. Imagine if we judged the rest of the leaders in scripture the way we judge leaders today. What would we do with David? David is lauded as a hero of the faith in the New Testament. We have Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Lot, Noah, etc who were all appallingly sinful men who God used for great things and who the Holy Spirit highlighted as examples for believers to follow but would also all be found unworthy to be leaders in the Church today. Until we come to terms with our own wickedness and the incredible mercy Christ shows us when we habitually fail Him we will not be able to judge righteously and will continue walking in hypocrisy. Sin needs to be called out and it needs to be dealt with but it has to be done out of love and humility.
