Wilbert Lek What’s good brother. I just wanted to spread a lil truth and love. We as human beings have something called a sinful nature, which means we find pleasure in doing things that are disobedient to God. And getting into Heaven isn’t about if you’re a good or bad person, but it’s whether if you have trusted in Jesus to cleanse you from your sins. Jesus died on the cross and rose again on the third day to pay the payment we owed God through eternal punishment in hell. You can’t be cleansed by your own works (helping out homeless, etc), it’s good to be a good person, but it doesn’t save you from hell. There is no other way into Heaven than by asking Jesus for mercy and forgiveness. Only by Jesus Christ may you be forgiven and saved for eternity! Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and repent, and to give you a relationship with Him. He loves you way more than you can imagine and He wants to be reconciled with you!! Much love ❤️

The wisdom I have since gained from trusting Him and His teachings has allowed me to overcome the struggles of my flesh, do I still get tempted??...yes of course I do and always will while in my flesh because it's corrupt but now I know how to deal with it. I know when I do my own will... I always fail to overcome my flesh, I fall every time leaving me with a heavy burden of guilt but now I realise my will has no power to overcome evil only Jesus will (His teachings) can. It's His will that has power and it has allowed me escape from the burden of my sins and now I feel free and truly fulfilled like nothing else in this world has ever brought me. Sin does bring us pleasure but it doesn't last long and the guilt stays around much longer than any pleasure we get from it...I wouldn't trade this for anything..it really is priceless. Babeaba I think guilt is good evidence that sin is real, that right and wrong is real thing. We humans feel guilty about doing wrong... even when nobody is around when we do it, we still seem to know it's wrong even if it advances us and doesn't hurt others, we still feel wrong, like cheating on a exam for an example. Naturally we don't like to be told something is wrong, when we're doing it ourselves!! so that's why we deny sin exists but the minute someone does wrong to us or to the people we love, we suddenly act like it was absolutely wrong and that they've broken some standard and we expect them to feel bad about it, so we only seem to deny sin when we are responsible ourselves but not when others do it or if it's being done to us, which is very interesting. In my opinion nothing else better explains the feeling of guilt than sin... our guilt convicts us of our wrong without anyone ever telling us and we seem to always try to justify why we have done wrong, it's never "our fault" but always reasons for why have done it...we're just tired, stressed or upset, we never put going wrong down to ourselves. We don't ever want to admit this about ourselves and we rarely say to others when called out for it "I don't care, if I've done wrong" instead we list excuses for doing it but the interesting thing is when we do good, we put this fully down to ourselves, we don't make excuses for doing good... we attribute that solely to ourselves, nothing made us be good we just are but something always makes us do wrong.

To me even the "worst" humans are usually (not always) the product of the environment or the circumstances they grew up with. And if I was born in Qatar and my Mother, Father, Grandparents, Brothers, Sisters, Cousins, Friends etc. all told me Islam is the right religion and I lived my whole life thinking I loved God and He loved me as a Muslim and I did right by people and tried to spread positivity in the world. Why should I be subjected to eternal punishment? It just doesn't seem right. And I can't believe God who loves us so much would subject someone to that and go through the trouble of still creating them if He knew that was going to happen. God is all knowing so he also knows the limitations of the human brain, he knows where we are going to fall short in our lives before we ever draw a breath so I refuse to believe he would continue to create people just to send them to Hell.

God is Holy. He cannot dwell in the presence of evil. When He warned Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, or else they will die, they disobeyed Him, and chose death. What must God now do? Must He go against His own word, and not pass judgement? His Name is Yahweh, meaning Unchangeable One. God also cannot not honour his word. If God says something, be sure it will come to pass. This causes the dilemma of Hell. God knew that it was SO bad, that He was willing to take on human form, die the worst imaginable death, after enduring absolute horrific torture and punishment, just so that you and I can escape Hell. Clearly, He takes sin absolutely serious, and knows without a shadow of a doubt from what horrors He is saving us from in Hell. But as Frank says, He will also not force anyone to worship Him. He did not create us in His image, and pre-configure us to be automatons. He gave us free will. We must choose. If we choose death, He will honour our choice. But then, He also does not send you to Hell. At the moment you were born, you were destined for Hell. Thank Adam and Eve for that, not God. He warned them. He wants and is willing to save ALL who call on Him. What God DID do was make a Way. Jesus, Who is THE Way, and THE Truth, and THE Life. NO ONE will see the Father except through Jesus Christ. To deny Christ, is to embrace Hell. There is NO OTHER WAY. All roads do NOT lead to Heaven, only ONE does, and HIS NAME is JESUS CHRIST.

@@GMNGChristian but sanctification is indeed part of our salvation. We are not saved through faith alone. Ephesians states it is through God's Grace that we have been saved. But, once we have that Grace it is our responsibility to allow it to sanctify us, and this is where we called to grow in faith and do good works. " *You were dead in your transgressions and sins in which you once lived following the age of this world, following the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the disobedient.* All of us once lived among them in the desires of our flesh, following the wishes of the flesh and the impulses, and we were by nature children of wrath, like the rest. *But God, who is rich in mercy, because of the great love he had for us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, brought us to life with Christ (by grace you have been saved),* raised us up with him, and seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. *For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God;* it is not from works, so no one may boast. *For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them.* " - Ephesians 2:1-10 If you read the verse carefully, you'll see that we are indeed saved by God's Grace, but it's not "once-saved-always-saved". This is an initial justification which calls us to continue in righteousness and avoiding disobedience. We are saved by faith, but not faith alone. These verses help us understand the full picture of our justification. _"What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?" - James 2:14 _"See how _*_a person is justified by works and not by faith alone._*_ And in the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by a different route? Yes, affliction and distress will come upon every human being who does evil, Jew first and then Greek. _*_But there will be glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good,_*_ Jew first and then Greek."_ - Romans 2:6-10 Even if you're saying works are the result of our faith, that only clarifies the order in which these two things save us, but it doesn't dispute that both faith and works are necessary for our salvation. @@maxxyboy1000 You're talking about 'works righteousness'. James is referring to false faith - or dead faith - if someone claims to be something, but that claim isn't backed by behavior, then do they really believe what they claim? No. They just want others to think they do. Remember, people are _justified_ by works - their claim of faith is justified by works - but they're not _saved_ by their works. The work that saved people was Christ's work on the cross, by no other can someone be saved. We are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Matthew is also referring to works righteousness (if you continue reading in chapter 7). The people wanting to get into Heaven and who affirm God, calling Him "Lord, Lord", aare being turned aaway because they're relying on their works to get them into Heaven; prophesying, casting out demons, etc. But they will be turned away because works righteousness is lawlessness; their works cannot get them into Heaven, but only the work of Christ's sacrifice on the cross.

By whose favor were you born into this world by way of water and blood? Therefore, again I say to you, who you choose is everything. For I do not withhold My love, yet on account of your flesh you do always step backward. Consider the woman who touched My robes and was made whole. Tell Me, how is it that she received and you do not? Was she so highly favored, that she should receive and you should not? Beloved, come close and walk beside Me, for you are indeed highly favored! And all who grab hold of Me shall surely share in all that is Mine. Little flock, My ways are equal, yet the ways of My people remain unequal. For I have indeed poured out My life for you, yet each one must decide how deeply they drink. Do you not see? My blessings are equal for all who receive of My blessings, and My grace sufficient for all who trust in Me. Thus among those who come to Me, one is not favored over another, nor is My love bestowed by measure. Rather it is you who receive by measure, resisting on account of all these deceitful weights, trust which remains altogether lacking. Therefore do not confuse My love with the calling I have purposed for another, nor compare the gifts of the Spirit with The Blessing. For those I have called to serve shall indeed be given gifts, each in accordance with their faith and My will. And those who receive the greater gifts shall also bear the greater burden, even in the heat of the Day. This cannot be an acceptable answer. I find this question to be an excellent one and unfortunately it was not answered adequately. The outstanding question is how can people be tormented forever and ever if God is love? Whatever answer is given to this question must be able to overcome the question of the character of God and whether or not it is fair for this to happen.
@steves_garage2 жыл бұрын
Personally I think there's a misconception about how people end up in Hell. Yes, God is love. However a prerequisite for love is that it isn't forced. God doesn't force you love him. Hell is separation from God. So from that we can kind of extrapolate that God doesn't really 'send' anyone to hell. They chose Hell when they rejected God.
@nori_tutor2 жыл бұрын
David, man, I really don't know how to answer some questions. Actually, the word "Hell" didn't even exist in the original language of bible! Did you know it? It did talk about a place where people who didn't accept Jesus went to, but it was not hell. It was introduced overtime, you can do a search on this by your own. But the thing is, it probably has degrees of rewarding and punishment, yes. And maybe some of em just cease to exist after paying what they got to pay, I don't know. But, don't worry, as a Christian, you're not FORCED to believe in hell the way other Christians do. And I realized that after I got into Christianity myself, I accepted Jesus as my only savior, I've been reading the Bible and slowly reshaping myself in Jesus's image. BUT I am still Norival, I'm still myself. I got opinions as everybody, and I decided to believe that people who didn't accept Jesus go to a place and pay for what they've done and then cease to exist. And maybe I'll change overtime and understand better the Bible, and that's it! You don"t need to believe in the way other Christians do, it's simple, believe in Jesus and you shall be saved. And that's it, you don't need to believe in this Hell some pastors say, or just swallow all the things they say it's true. You're still gonna be yourself man, don't be afraid man, and now as a Christian I can ask for God's help to understand my questions! I still got em

@@steves_garage that isn’t love at all, sending people to get tormented forever just for not following him and accepting him is pretty evil to me. I don't think either one of us is qualified to determine precisely what someone's eternal situation will be. I'll leave that to God. As much as I love Dr. Turek's teaching, I have to say that I am slightly dissapointed that he didn't address that Hell was not originally made for humans. The bible is clear that Hell was made for the Devil and his angels. Matt 25:41. Because God is love, He is also just. If He wasn't just, we'd all be in trouble. Because God is merciful, He judges. We as humans try and attempt to put God on our level of morality and we can't do that. We are not the law givers of what is right and true when we ourseles are sinners, depraved by nature. How dare we as humans attempt to hold God to a higher standard than what He holds us to. Look at it this way. I have three children at home. One is 2 and the other is 6 and the other is 16. If my two year old shows me attitude, or storms off crying in a fit of rage, I will treat her much differently than I would my 16 year old. Let say my 16 year old steals a car, my car, and gets caught by the police and my 6 year old steals a candy bar from the store. I will, as a parent deal with these two children and these two instances very differently vs treating each sin as the same. (Even tho God sees all sin as one in the same, but that's an argument for another time) My 16 year old knows better and my 6 year old may need to be reminded of what is right and what is wrong. Also, if my 6 year old or my 16 year old starts abusing my 2 year old, because of my love and mercy for her, I will "judge" my older two children because of their sinful and abusive attitude towards my 2 year old daughter. If I didn't deal with those other two, how could I as a parent be just if I don't mete out justice? Having said, that, God views ALL sin as one in the same. A transgressing of the law, His law will be met with punishment and wrath. The one attribute that is spoken about the most in the bible when it coems to God and His nature is not of His love, but of His Holiness. God has not only a right but a duty to mete out judgement and wrath as He sees fit. Luckily, He gave us Jesus and He took that judgement and that wrath for us at the Cross.

But it's also a 2000 year old document collection from a humans writing that has been adapted and re-printed over the centuries. So that's one issue that it has been changed and we wouldnt even know it from the original texts. The other issue is god's paradox with hell, love, morality and immorality. And the issues within that itself. Now I could just be wrong, but it seems unlikely an all powerful, all loving god would intentionally create free will and people with the knowledge they might not know or believe he exists and then create an eternal punishment not because they were evil or sinful. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever." Revelation 20:15 states "And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." Don’t worry; the torment is regret, not being burnt alive for eternity. How could anyone confuse the two?! 1:06 Continually sinning [in hell] because you don't want God. Nobody wants to be around someone that would willingly throw them into a lake of fire. Most never heard the Gospel before they died or heard a contorted warped version that was very flawed. The Bible says people can be saved after death, which is why the gospel was preached to the dead - 1 Peter 4: 6 For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. "All the earth shall worship You And sing praises to You; They shall sing praises to Your name.” Selah Psalm 66:4 "For no one is cast off by the Lord forever." God loves us so much He allows us to choose whether we love Him back. And hell is a choice.
@isaacmarshmallow87513 жыл бұрын
God's perfect law was "eye for eye, tooth for tooth", the punishment fit the crime. However the hellfire teaching proposes that ones bad deeds commited during a finite time on earth result in infinite punishment. In this instance the punishment exceeds the crime infinitely. This is why people cannot reconcile the two, not because they are trying to accuse God of being immoral, but because the very idea of hellfire contradicts God's own moral standards. Therefore God by his own standards looks cruel and not like a God of mercy. So people come to one of four conclusions: 1) Gods ways are higher than ours, but I'll blindly trust this premise I've been taught by my religious leaders and continue following because I trust him. This however goes against the reasoning of 1 Thessalonians 5:21, Ephesians 5:10, Romans 12:2 and Hebrews 5:14. God trains us to use our power of reason to distinguish right and wrong. He does not expect blind obedience. Matthew 15:14. His word completely equips us with what we need (2 Timothy 3:16,17). Don't let religious leaders gaslight you. 2) I don't want to suffer for all of eternity, so I'll serve God. But then this is not serving out of love, but out of fear of consequences (and not the respectful kind of fear). While first violating 1 John 4:18,19, this also inverses the premise of the book of Job. Satan's accusation against Job was that he only served God because of the Good things God gave him (Job 1:9,10) that his motivations were selfish, treating God like an intergalactic vending machine (like Karma). Oppositely, in this scenario these people are only serving God because of the things they don't want him to do to him, selfish motivations, not motivated by love. 3) I cannot reconcile how a God of love would do such a thing. This contradiction is too great. My faith is shipwrecked. I don't think this can be true anymore. Well "let us eat and drink for tomorrow we are to die". An understandable outcome. Matthew 15:14 has come true in their case. However Luke 17:1,2 predicted such things. 4) the "hellfire" teaching could have been misunderstood? And such a premise can lead you on the right path. Check the original language. There are 4 words. Hebrew Sheol and it's Greek equivalent Hades, where righteous people like Job (14:13) and Jacob (Genesis 37:37) were expecting to go, which is to be emptied according to Revelation 20:13,14 and then Gehenna along with its equivalent term in the Greek "the lake of fire" which means "the second death" (Revelation 20:14). Most Bible's conflate these terms under the single word "hell" which has just confused everything. Yes God knows Infinitely more than us and should be trusted. But he hasn't left us in the dark, he has explained everything we need. 1 John 2:24 though says that what we have heard "from the beginning" must remain in us. Not what we personally heard from our teachers this century no, but all of the things primary based in the Bible and nothing but the Bible. Not the 2000 years worth of traditions that have slowly developed and been added since, or erroneous thinking that has crept in, for we know exactly how Jesus felt about such things in his day (Mark 7:7,13). There are many things done, that are not found or commanded anywhere for Christians in the scriptures. "Holy water", incense, child christenings, Mary worship, prayer beeds, cross worship to name a few...

I don't have the full time to read everything that you said, but your perspective is flawed right from your premise. You commit thousands of sins every day. Every sin deserves the death sentence. Over the course of your lifetime, you will sin countless times, so you will receive countless death sentences. Each one lasting the life of a human. That's pretty damn close to Infinity by our reckoning. Now flip the script: waht have you done to deserve an eternity in heaven? Only the perfect and sinless can go there, so why would you be worthy of going there? You have countless sins on you. You don't deserve the kingdom of God. Not unless you're washed clean and released from sin through the blood of Jesus Christ. The problem with your premise is that you think hell was made to torment and punish, but you're wrong. Hell was made to place those who chose to live away from God. God is also good. The literal embodiment of good. Everything you have in you that is good comes from God, even your own so called morality. So when you go to hell, none of that good is in you, because God has left you alone as you requested. It doesn't matter if your sentence in hell was only a minute, it would still be enough time for you to continue to reject God and continue to sin against Him indefinitely, because you won't repent or regret. Both of those are good things and there is no longer any good in you. It doesn't matter how you want to slice it, whether you want to look at it literally, theoretically, legally, spiritually, or whatever else. Hell is where sinners deserve to go, and they're more than happy to be there. Nobody goes to heaven or hell except through their own conscious choices. If you read 1 Corinthians 3:8-15, this passage in Scripture is referring to the Day of Judgement on Christ Followers. When Jesus sits on His throne to judge those who never accepted Him, as mentioned in this video, He will judge fairly, and the punishment each person receives will be given according to what they did in their life here on Earth. The same will happen to those who accepted Christ, but we will be rewarded according to our works done here on Earth. Verse 11 says that Jesus Christ is the foundation. You only have Jesus Christ as the foundation of your life if you repented of your sins and accepted Him as Lord and Savior. He is the Rock. Verse 12 begins to talk about works, comparing the motives behind them to "gold, silver, stones, wood, hay, or straw." If I do something with good and godly intentions, this is likened to the "gold, silver, and stone." But if I do something with bad intentions, this is likened to the "wood, hay, or straw." I understand that sometimes we do certain things and believe we're doing right, but God will be the Judge of that. Verse 13 says that God will bring our works to the light and show it for what it is. God will test the quality of each of our works with fire. Remember Moses and the burning bush? Remember how that fire did not burn the bush? Let's say that that is how it will be for those good works that are gold, silver, and stone. They will survive, and you will be rewarded. But for those works done with ungodly intent that are wood, hay, and straw, they shall be burned and you "will suffer loss." Now, the foundation cannot be removed. For Christ seals you as His son or daughter if you truly and sincerely accepted Him for who He is. So even if most of what was built on the foundation is wood, hay or straw, the foundation will never be burned and you are still given eternal life in Christ's Kingdom. God is fair.

Just as many rewards are good/ as they have wasted rewards./ hey, wood stubble is wasted rewards. These are Christians, I think most Christians waste their opportunities. Remember there is also some 30 fold, 60 fold, a hundredfold. Paul says the foundation is Christ, how you build on the foundation is up to the Christian. Paul always addresses believers, sometimes Israel.

God specifically claims he needs to be feared. That contradicts love. Besides killing millions isn't really the definition of love
@sidwhiting6653 жыл бұрын
@Repel, this is a common misunderstanding that many have regading the word "Fear". . You "fear" authority, do you not? Just as you would "fear" a powerful storm, or the edge of a tall cliff with nothing to save you if you fell over it. . God is all-powerful, all-knowing, present everywhere....all that he is compared to us mere finite mortals causes us to "fear" him in the sense of awe and amazement for who and what he is and what he has done. . Imagine going on trial for murder in front of a judge who has the power to sentence you to death. Would you show him/her "fear" out of respect for their authority, or would you taunt him, call him names, dress slovenly, curse him, and ignore his instructions? I'm going to wager a 6 pack of suds you might act appropriately and "fear" the power that judge holds over you life. . Just so with God. If we're honest, we realize we are not good people....not by a long stretch. We spend at least 50% of our day and resources meeting our own needs and wants. We ignore the poor, the outcast, the weak, etc. We excuse it by saying, "Well, that's just the way things are and I 'deserve' to treat myself well because I'm so good." But are we really? How many of us have lusted, cheated, lied, been disrespectful, showed coldness to our parents, spouse, kids, etc. How many of us can drive down the road and not get irritated if no infuriated by how other people drive? If we are honest, we must admit we are not good people. Maybe we aren't as horrible as others, but does being "less bad than person X" make me "good?" . So God then is both powerful enough and fully justified and could condemn me eternally, and because of that I "fear" him. I am in awe of his power. I know the only reason I am not condemned is that he loved me enough to sacrifice his life to save me from my badness. . "Killing millions" is God's fault? But you don't believe in God! So then who did the killing? Humans. Are you prepared to believe in the goodness of humans....because, according to your worldview....there is no God...which means the humans you believe are "good" are the ones who actually killed millions. Isn't that an inherent contradiction?

I’m a Christian and I know I have been redeemed by Christ. My concern isn’t for myself, but for family and friends who are unsaved: I believe 100% that God is just. But I cannot reconcile that a loving and just God could not give a second chance to someone who has been condemned to hell. Say a Buddhist friend. She is a decent person. But goes to hell because she never accepted Christ. True, many people have tried to convert her in this world, but her culture and family prevented it. How is it just to send this person to hell without a chance of redemption. In hell, she would 100% understand that Jesus is the Way, Truth, and the Life and will most likely repent and beg God to save her. Would it be just to not give someone this second chance?
@tomm61673 ай бұрын
There's a lot of biblical support for second chances: UNTIL -- "I tell you the truth, you will not get out *until* you have paid the last penny." (Matt. 5:26). THE FORGIVABLE SINS -- "Every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not ... either in this age or in the age to come" (Matt. 12:31-32). The wording strongly suggests that all sins except one, including blasphemies against Christ, will be forgiven in the next age if they're not forgiven in this age. (For Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, compare Matt. 12:32 with Eph. 2:7.) BAPTISMS FOR THE DEAD -- In 1 Cor. 15:29, Paul addresses -- and does not condemn (per se) -- the Corinthians' practice of being baptized for the dead. But this practice would have been absurd if one's eternal fate is sealed at death. Also, prayers for the dead were almost universal in the early church. THE DEAD HEAR THE GOSPEL AND LIVE -- "For the gospel has for this purpose been preached even to those who are dead, that though they are judged in the flesh as men, they may *live in the spirit* according to the will of God" (1 Peter 4:6). (Also see Psalm 68:18, Zech. 9:11-12, Matt. 12:29, Eph. 4:8-10.) WHO IS THIRSTY? -- "The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come'. And let the one who hears say, 'Come'. And let the one who is *thirsty* come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price." (Rev. 22:17) The setting of Rev. 22:17 is the Rev. 21-22 new heaven and new earth, since the "water of life" is also mentioned in Rev. 21:6 & 22:1, and it's the Rev. 21-22 "Bride" who is speaking -- not the "church" or the "lampstands." But who are the thirsty ones? Who else is there? The thirsty ones must be those in the Lake of Fire, located outside the city gates (Rev. 22:14-15), which never close (Rev. 21:25). SODOM RESTORED -- "I will restore the fortunes of Sodom and her daughters and of Samaria and her daughters, and your fortunes along with them ... And your sisters, Sodom with her daughters and Samaria with her daughters, will return to what they were before; and you and your daughters will return to what you were before" (Ezek. 16:53,55). In verses 47-55, the pronouns "their" and "they" identify the restored individuals as being those who were destroyed in Gen. 19 because of their abominations (Ezek. 16:50) and for other reasons (Ezek. 16:49). They will first need to be punished and purified in God's symbolic and refining Lake of Fire. DRY BONES LIVE -- "Then he said to me, `Son of man, these bones are the *whole* house of Israel. Behold they say, "Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off."' Therefore prophesy, and say to them, `Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves, O my people... And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, O my people. And I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live'" (Ezek. 37:11-14a). BLINDINGS -- God has either directly caused, or permitted, various groups of people to be blinded to the truth (e.g. Mark 4:10-12, Rom. 11:25, 2 Cor. 4:3-4). This would seem to require an unblinded opportunity in the afterlife. DEAFENING SILENCE -- The first 2/3 of the Bible is completely silent about Hell, and the last 1/3 uses the ambiguous-at-best Greek word _aion_ and its derivatives to describe Hell's duration. This makes no sense if (a) God is love and (b) eternal torment is true. There would have been clear and dire warnings on almost every page. For instance, why did Noah infinitely understate the penalty when he warned his neighbors only of a worldwide flood and not of eternal conscious torment? EVENTUAL UNIVERSAL SALVATION EXPLICITLY TAUGHT -- See John 12:32, 17:2, combination of (John 3:35, 6:37), Rom. 5:18-19, 8:19-21, 11:32,36, 14:11 , *1 Cor. 15:22,28* , Eph. 1:10, Phil. 2:10-11, 3:21, Col. 1:20, 1 Tim. 2:3-6, 4:10, Titus 2:11, 1 Pet. 4:6, 1 John 2:2, 4:14, Rev. 5:13, 15:4, 21:5,24-25, 22:2, combination of (Rev. 22:1,14-15,17a,17c), Psalm 22:27,29, 65:2-3, 145:10a, Isa. 25:6-8, 45:22-25, 57:16, Lam. 3:22,31, Ezek. 16:53,55, Mal. 3:2-3. These verses, and many others like them, imply second chances.

There are several major issues within the problem of Hell. The first is the definition of Hell. There are several words in the original languages of the Bible that are translated into the word Hell in English. A second issue is whether or not the existence of Hell is compatible with the existence of a just God. A third is whether or not Hell is compatible with God's mercy, especially as articulated in Christianity. An issue particular to Christianity is whether or not Hell is actually populated forever. If it is not, one must suppose that those populating Hell may eventually die, or that God will ultimately restore all immortal souls in the World to Come. This is known as the universal reconciliation doctrine. In some respects, the problem of Hell is similar to the problem of evil, assuming the suffering of Hell is caused by free will and something God could have prevented. The discussion regarding the problem of evil may thus also be of interest to the problem of Hell. The problem of Hell could be viewed as the worst and most intractable instance of the problem of evil.

As a Christian and I believe in hell. From a human perspective, in answering your question. The logical answer I would give is annihilation. Yet I believe hell is eternal as the Bible says. Now I could be wrong because there's lots of ambiguity concernng the concept of hell. But many think that God actively forces the unrepentant, those not redeemed and in Christ to an eternal hell. Understanding is about having a proper perspective. I think it's highly plausable that God's not the active driver, the sinner is. The Bible teaches that God is holy, holy, holy. Every time someone like Isaiah sees God in a sinful state, they become unhinged. Maybe it's God's glory that drives them away i.e. the sinner runs from God. This makes more sense to me. God is love but he's holy too. Like a fire will drive one away. Those not clothed in Christ will run away on their own. God's driving them off but not actively, God's passive. Those that are in Christ aren't driven away, their drawn towards God. Heaven is being in Gods presense. Hell is running away from God and running into the darkness. As horrible as hell is for the sinner, it's better than being near God. Just a thought, I'm not dogmatic because I'm just not sure. I do know we'll understand much more because; For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I also have been fully known.

First ones to resurrection of life and other to resurrection of judgement. The ones who got sentenced will be destroyed in the lake of fire. It's a wonderful and interesting and peaceful place full of happy energy because everyone that stays there do it volontarily, fully knowing the Ruler and his loving rules. If you don't want to be under Gods rulership, meaning not accepting Jesus, you absolutely don't have to! If you don't want to be in heaven God doesn't force you or anyone else. Accordingly to the Bible, and that the source we have at hand here, those whom don't want to be with Jesus are allowed to stay out of or outside of the Kingdom of Jesus. That outside place is totally emty of love, empathy, help, forgiveness and justice, fairness. No God. It's pure agony. Pure torment. Totally free of Gods standard. It's called Hell. nickj14711 God says there is such a thing. Four thousand years or more ago, God spoke through the Hebrew prophet Isaiah to let us know, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. He sets the standard because He is perfectly righteous. It is his will that we have fallen short of. The church didn't make this up, human beings didn't make this up. That's evident in your own response, because no human being would say this about themselves if they didn't have to because their creator has already reviewed it in your own heart, in nature around us even in it's currently Fallen and temporarily Corrupted State, in the written word of the Bible, and then the Incarnate Word of Jesus, God In the Flesh, who came into the world at a specific time and place in history, verified by miracles seen by eyewitnesses both hostile and believing, written testimony of many of those eyewitnesses, that is the gospel writers and their friends who insist that they saw and heard and handled with their own eyes and ears what they report in the New Testament scriptures. They went to their death insisting that what they saw and heard from Jesus coming including the fact that he rose from the dead, was actually literally true. It's one thing to be deluded, it's another thing entirely to know that you're telling lies and yet be willing to Die For Those lies. Are you willing to die for a lie, Nick? I certainly am not. However, I believe the eyewitness testimony is credible and is better supported by more documentation then any other ancient writer or writings. One example that I just heard today: gospel writer Luke claims that Jesus said that the end time would come in the before the generation that was listening to him had passed away. You say, well it's been more than two thousand years and Jesus hasn't come back, and you would be correct. But look closer. Jesus said that the temple would be torn down and not one stone will be left upon another of the building itself. Just 40 years after he said this, Rome came in and destroyed the temple of the Jews by the actions of Roman general Titus. but Luke gospel rights in the present is though the temple were still standing. This is internal evidence that Luke's gospel is very near the time that it is writing about, certainly before the Romans destroyed the Jewish temple in 70 AD, since he gives no mention of it actually happening yet. So what Jesus said about the generation of his hearers not passing away before this happened what is accurate and correct.

nickj14711 you do realize that by heart the Bible means your moral Center not your blood pump? You asked is there any such thing as sin or is it just a made-up idea, and I answered the question exactly the way God answers the question in the scripture. He gets to decide what is true, not you. Please define for me what you mean by credible evidence since the evidence I gave you doesn't seem credible to you. How is the Bible been discredited, exactly? Why would you expect a supernatural being to be provable by natural, or scientific means? If there is no God is a really big if Nick. Are you really willing to bet your life that you are right? Especially when God has stepped into history and told mankind that he is the creator and will one day be their judge. Not only that, but that he came into his history as a man willing to die to pay the infinite penalty that no human being under judgment can ever pay, but that must be paid if the loving God is ever to be able to redeem any of us that he loves, including you if you are willing.

@@Malhaloc ah, well technically if the first biblical canon had 73 books, then it wouldn't be "DLC". It's modern Bibles that have removed those books. If we're looking at the full Christian Bible, then the comment you responded to above mentions praying for the dead: _"for if he were not expecting the fallen to rise again, it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead. But if he did this with a view to the splendid reward that awaits those who had gone to rest in godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Thus he made atonement for the dead that they might be absolved from their sin."_ - 2 MACCABEES 12:44-46 The Douay-Rheims Bible translates the last verse to: _"It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins."_ In order to understand this, you need to know what the Catholic teaching on purgatory actually is. Contrary to popular beliefs, the Catholic Church does not definitively say that purgatory is a "place". As nothing impure can enter heaven (Rev. 21:27), and because when we die we're still attached to sin, there has to be some kind of process in which we're "purified". This process could be instantaneous, it could take time, and it could be a place - but neither the Catechism nor the Bible tells us what the process of purification will be, only that one exists. _"the work of each will come to light, for the Day will disclose it. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire [itself] will test the quality of each one’s work. If the work stands that someone built upon the foundation, that person will receive a wage. But if someone’s work is burned up, that one will suffer loss; _*_the person will be saved, but only as through fire._*_ "_ - 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 This is what the Catechism says: * _"All who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven."_ - CCC1030 * _"The Church gives the name Purgatory to this final purification of the elect, which is entirely different from the punishment of the damned. The Church formulated her doctrine of faith on Purgatory especially at the Councils of Florence and Trent. the tradition of the Church, by reference to certain texts of Scripture, speaks of a cleansing fire: As for certain lesser faults, we must believe that, before the Final Judgment, there is a purifying fire. He who is truth says that whoever utters blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will be pardoned neither in this age nor in the age to come. From this sentence we understand that certain offenses can be forgiven in this age, but certain others in the age to come."_ - CCC1031 To answer your first question, the Bible doesn't directly state to pray to Mary or the Saints. But it also doesn't condemn it either. To find the answer to it you need to look to what the early Christian Church believed. You'll find that the early church fathers all supported the notion that saints would intercede and pray for us. Let me know if you have any more questions. God bless!

@@Malhaloc In the world of theology, there is an entity, known as, the harmony of the gospels. If more than one apostle, testifies of an incident or parable, it's likely to be a reliable occurrence. Jesus didn't state that the parable of salt and light was a parable, yet it is testified to in: Matthew 5:13-16 Mark 9:50 Luke 11:33-36 In fact, there are several parables, Jesus told, but didn't state, they were parables. In Luke 8:4 Luke mentioned the parable, not Jesus. The unmerciful servant, the good Samaritan, the rich fool, not Jesus, but Luke. Bottom line: Biblical scholars, and historians, do not look at parables, or testimony by only one apostle, as necessarily reliable, neither do I, since there are lots of biblical versions, and the context of the parables themselves. In the parable of Lazarus, and the rich man, it starts out bogus. The word, "hell", in the bible, is translated from Greek, Hebrew, and Latin. Most times, it means, the grave, a pit, or abyss. People who are dead in the grave are NOT, conscious, nor burning. If Mark, or John had testified of the parable, it would have alot more weight. My opinion is, that Luke was taking some license in the story, but, as with the other gospels, there is doubt that they were actually written by the apostles themselves. I like the RSV, and still consider the bible to be mostly, and somewhat the word of God, primarily because of the documented times, God spoke, and lots of people heard him. Like at the baptism of Jesus.

Here is the problem with Frank Turek's answer. He just takes snippets from Luke 16. He is bringing assumptions into the passage. He says people want to be in Hell because the rich man doesn't ask to get out of hell. Clearly he wanted water to cool his tongue because of the torments of the fire. So, we could assume he would want out to get that water but realizes he can't so he is asking if someone bring him some. Why would he want his brothers to escape Hell if he himself would not want out? That just does not make any sense at all. This guy asks a very good question and Frank does not really address the question. If I put someone in a room that he can't escape from and in that room he is being tormented by snakes i put in there could they argue I am torturing them? Yes. Frank needs to better explain how tormenting someone is not the same as torturing them.

The KJV translates both Hades and Gehenna (Lake of Fire) as “Hell,” but they aren’t the same place. Hades is the place for souls awaiting the resurrection. Gehenna is where people who are condemned to the second death go. It’s written that people will be destroyed in Gehenna. The exception is for immortals like fallen angels, demons; also people who take the mark of the beast, which tells me the mark confers immortality. And that would explain why Revelation says they’ll seek death but not find it. Many people teach that everyone whose resurrected will be given immortality, but the Bible says that we are mortals and eternal life is a gift. God drove mankind away from the Tree of Life in Genesis, and we don’t see him offering the water of life until the end of the Bible, after the damned are thrown into Gehenna. And I don’t know where this guy gets his information from, but Strong’s Concordance says the Greek words translated “tormented” is _basanizó,_ which means “torture”. And that makes sense because Gehenna is described as a lake of lava and fire.

He's not. If you're already in hell you of course can't get out. You've made that choice the moment you turn away from God, aka eternal life but as long as you're still here, alive, you can choose God and be saved. God gives us plenty of chances and free will to do what we want. He tells us we can choose hell or God and even then people choose hell knowing they will have to endure eternal torment (just like in the example of the rich man he tells us about from the Bible) vs eternal life and peace (Heaven). God IS loving, he is literally the creator or morality "good and evil" but good and Evil cannot coexist in Heaven. Look how it coexists currently for our planet, look what we're left with...not very pleasant. Choose evil and Godless living, you choose hell and the consequences of evil. Choose God and that's choosing good, heaven, etc. There are good non believers, however, you have to choose God, choose to be saved in order to obtain eternal life, love and goodness with God and fellow saved people. Also he has to shout so that people can hear him... I also think he normally speaks like this if you watch his videos you'll see what I mean lol. It may be confusing to you but if you read your Bible and study more on these arguments it's easier to understand what he's saying. I'm sure the people asking have studied enough to go up and ask too.
