The First Presidency made the following statement in 1978: “The great religious leaders of the world such as Mohammed, Confucius, and the Reformers, as well as philosophers including Socrates, Plato, and others, received a portion of God's light. Moral truths were given to them by God to enlighten whole nations and to bring a higher level of understanding to individuals.”

Both western standard words and eastern standard words teach us to be good. However, God wants us not only to know the goodness but also the Truth. Buddha was a compassionate and spiritual human being but he didn’t know Jehovah God in Heaven till he was resurrected. All the philosophers on earth cannot lead us to salvation but Christ alone. I keep my eyes on Christ alone and His teachings. Only through Christ alone, I can see Jehovah God in Heaven. In Heaven, there is a vertical relationship. No one can be in horizontal relationships with Christ and Jehovah God. Christ is sitting on the right hand of Jehovah God. Only Christ can have parallel relationship with Jehovah. No one else can be like God because no one has God’s mighty powers. God’s Words are above all the literatures and the teachings of philosophers and sages. I focus on reviewing the scriptures. Only God’s words lead to salvation. I don’t want to study Quran because I believe Prophet Muhammad cannot lead me to salvation. I focus on Christ alone. When I studied the scriptures at the age of 8, I felt grateful that Christ comforted me. He guided me to deal with my mother’s grudges, hostility and hypocrisy (double faced) towards my father. Christ taught me to be patient, peaceful and forgiving. No matter how wrong my mom was, I stayed in peace alone and not to join her ‘crime’. I do not forgive alone but also forget and let go. What my mom and siblings did had not bothered me or hurt me much because I forgive, forget and let go. I am glad that I am still healthy and active. I keep an open heart with good conscience and peace. Why do we hate like the most parts of the world? My sister is still jealous of me that I handle myself fine. I am still the one enjoying my work and traveling. My sister and brother have retired. They check on me every year by sending me a birthday wish because they want me to send them back birthday wishes as well. God knows I don’t hold grudges. I just need to make me comfortable with myself as much as I can. I have been distanced by my own family from the very beginning and I accept the way it is. I didn’t try hard to impress my family members by acting like them and begging to be accepted. I just need God and Christ to accept me. In the end, I know I will be fine because Christ is in my heart.
