P.S. I also produce a podcast version and a written version of these videos if you prefer a different format. You can find this one here: redeemingproductivity.com/in-a-days-work-gods-pattern-for-productivity/

This is so helpful, I believe that this is an answer to my prayer. Had a really bad day on Friday when it comes to productivity, which left me frustrated. I prayed that God help me so that I do not get moody when it comes to work, and Saturday this popped up on my KZbin feed. This was an excellent teaching, praise God and thank you.

Yeah, I never really thought about praying before I start work to give thanks for the opportunity to able to earn a living and support my family. And then pray for the task, I am about to do for the day. Something you don't see people do. ESPECIALLY at the end of the day... people don't take the time to pray before you go home. Lock up the PC and run to the car. I am guilty of this. I will for sure start praying before I leave work to humble myself and give thanks to God for a day's work and delight in it. All glory to him.

I really needed this I've been feeling horrible for not being 'productive' and this helped a lot. I think we truly ought to focus on our purpose each day not just a vague purpose. Look like what can we genuinely get done today with clarity. Thank you buddy!

The idea of imitating God's pattern helps. As an unbeliever, I didn't have that delight at the end of the day's work, no matter how much I've accomplished. I didn't pray either. It was just the curse through and through. Now as a Christian it's so different. The curse is still there but the delight and satisfaction, expressed through prayer at day's end, brought me the peaceful joy my soul desperately needed.

This was so encouraging Regan. I especially appreciated the 'day-size' analogy. It works well with the creation narrative (i.e. on day 1, God created light - one thing, whereas on other days He created all animals - that's a lot of little projects!) I'll be sharing this with our church's men's group, we just did a study on work.

Great point about how God grouped little projects on some of the days. That didn't occur to me, but makes the analogy even more powerful!

I have both books. Good, Biblical, challenging (or maybe I was feeling conviction at tones) practical reads. Highly recommend. Will keep for future reference.
