God’s Purpose for Marriage (Marriage Today) 1. To replicate God’s nature and image on the earth 2. To complete man and woman so that they experience companionship and eliminate aloneness 3. To generationally perpetuate the nature of God and the values of his kingdom 4. To multiply God’s human family with righteous offspring. The Signs of an Atomistic State (the downfall of all states) 1. Marriage loses its sacredness as it is frequently broken by divorce 2. The traditional meaning of marriage is lost 3. The feminist movement abounds and women lose their inclination for childbearing 4. There is an increased public disrespect for parents 5. Increase in juvenile delinquency, promiscuity, and rebellion 6. The hostility of pseudo-intellectuals to the family soon spreads to the common people sealing the doom for society 7. There is an increased acceptance of adultery and sexual perversion Requirements of Marriage 1. Sacrifice - marriage is a covenant, which means to cut; a sacrificial permanent relationship 2. Commitment - selflessness, service, cooperation, faithfulness, and generosity Reasons the Devil Attacks Marriage 1. Because it looks like God 2. It makes people act like God 3. He wants to break the heart of children

This Godly man is, in my opinion, the greatest Christian marriage counselor that ever was! I highly recommend to anyone struggling in their marriage, (or even in a healthy marriage that wants to be strengthened) to get the 5-cd set and/ or book by Jimmy Evans entitled, Marriage on the Rock. When we realize that the purpose of our marriages is to bring Glory and Honor to God......we are then truly blessed! To God be the Glory!

Dear Jimmy Evans , can you please talk more specifically about having children and creating a family in marriage . I feel like the same issues and disrespect that apply to marriage also apply to having children . While you touched on this I wish it was discussed further . Too many people even Christian people think that having children is something you choose or not choose to do . I believe this is only because of the introduction of birth control pill which originated out of the feminist movement, this was not Gods plan for the family or our sexuality in marriage . I just wish there was more discussion about why the Bible is pro having children in a Christian marriage and teaching my generation why it’s important. I just feel that even Christians couples have taken God OUT of their decision in having children as things like infertility and career alter their decision making . They’d rather turn to science than God. Just some thoughts .

Focus on God not your marriage. Your strong relationship with God will naturally take care of marriage. The church has put way too much emphasis on having a happy marriage to the point where couples are taught to be selfish and put themselves first in everything.
@cbarlos663 Жыл бұрын
I disagree, my pastor has told me that we as men need to sacrifice for our wife the same way Christ sacrificed for the church. Thats why the church follows him, and one day when im married I will do the same.
@sarayoung9395 Жыл бұрын
@@cbarlos663 What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not; 1st Corinthians 7:29 NIV. This states it pretty plainly- we need to balance this verse with the call to sacrifice, because we don't just sacrifice for our spouses, we are to love one another as Christ loved us John 13:34- I'm just saying the church has this out of balance and it tipping the other way and turning our spouses into an idol. Francis Chan talks a lot about this, how there are a lot of happy and strong marriages in the church, but they are useless because they are self -centered and not accomplishing anything for the gospel. It's all about date nights and meeting each other "needs", not about taking those strong relationships and pouring into others for the Lord.

I tried to solve my internal Issues before I was a Christian. It led to destruction. I lost too many years living in pain. When I became a Christian. That didnt fix all those problems. Marriage will NOT fix you. Only God can. Nothing on Earth can repair the scars and damage caused in your heart and soul. Believe God loves you. HE DOES. Do not use the ways of the world to try to get Gods results. When I met my one day to be wife. My 1st need was to be loved. Really loved. Gods kind love. SEX does NOT mean love Love does for the object what is in it's best interest. If I say I love you. Then it better look like Gods example. If it doesnt. Then it's most likely NOT love. Do not base your relationship On physical pleasures. Base it on Godly Interests

Satan thought he was gonna destroy God's plan in the garden of eden. But it's really deeper than this. God made man a little lower than angels. But God gave something to mankind that angels can't have. The ministry of marriage ( intimacy) . Satan seen God gave the gift of sex between Adam and Eve and became envy and thought he could use God's words against him with Eve to end what God had started. God didn't surely say. God knew what Satan was gonna do before he came to Eve infact it started God's plan of let us make man in our image. If they had known they would have never crucified the Lord of glory. If Satan had a known he wouldn't have never went to Eve. If people would really get intimate with God they wouldn't become deceived. Marriages would start and last. Families would see God and Satan would remain defeated. Satan hates Godly marriages Satan hates Godly intimacy. Satan does everything he can to distort the things of God. Spiritual Revelation from the kingdom of God is needed if your gonna see God's glory

Love it but need a little help on understanding something. He said a Christ like man, a Holy Spirit like woman and God in the middle. But I have heard them called a Christ centered marriage. So, are there supposed to be two Christ like figures or is a Christ centered relationship a poor representation. Is the center supposed to be the Father making the third who of the triune God(Father, Son and Holy Spirit) or is the middle supposed to be the “what” of the Triune God (three who’s, one “what”(God)), but in that case it would seem a little weird for the relationship to be modeled after God but leave out the Father. Or is the “what” of God as a whole being above over us and taking care of us supposed to be the representation of the Father. But that leaves us with a weird case. Now we have a husband(Christ like) a wife(Holy Spirit like) and God(Father, Son and Holy Spirit), now the representation has something more like a five being relationship, which would be kind of weird if we are modeling after a three being relationship. Or are we just supposed to take God as a whole as Father like, as he has control over what the Son and Holy Spirit does. Oh that makes sense, God, Man and Women are the “what’s” of marriage and the Father Son and Holy Spirit are the “who’s” of marriage. Comment if you have an alternate solution or you see a problem with this.
@Roostermania20105 жыл бұрын
@TheRealConservative ~ While I will agree that calling the wife "Holy Spirit like" is not Biblically substantiated (more on that in a moment), if a person chooses to take THAT MODEL of the wife being "Holy Spirit like" and the husband "Christ like", then yes, in order for the Triune God model to be complete, FATHER God is at the center and head (lead) of the Son (husband) ~ John 5:19 is a Biblical passage that can be utilized in the marriage context as the Son (husband) does what He see the Father (at the marriage center) do ~~ But more specific detail is revealed in Ephesians 5:22-33 regarding the Biblical view of the relation between husband (Christ) and wife (CHURCH, not Holy Spirit). Hence, the model of the God (Father), husband (Christ), and wife (Holy Spirit) may be more representative (especially as a visual aide before an audience) than it is to be considered functional, which Scripture reveals in Eph. 5:22-33 ~ Christ did not give Himself for the Holy Spirit, nor does He minister, cleanse or sanctify the Spirit... Christ does this for His Church Bride... the Spirit glorifies the Son... The Church glorifies GOD (Father, Son, HS) both as ONE, as well as individually to proper degrees and context, but that's another discussion altogether ~ Ultimately, whenever a visual model, analogy, or passage seems to be unclear or blurry, it's always a good idea to employ the "K.I.S.S." method = Keep It Simple Saints ;) LoL

At what exact point (what second in time) are two people "actually" officially married ...in God's eyes? When they have both signed the same marriage certificate? (as Adam and Eve did) When they have put on their tuxedo or wedding dress? (as Adam and Eve did) When they have placed gold rings on each other's fingers? (as Adam and Eve did) When they cut the three tier wedding cake? (as Adam and Eve did) When they proclaim their love in a church before a congregation of family and friends? (as Adam and Eve did) When they ride away to their honeymoon in a stretch limousine? (as Adam and Eve did) When a minister of their religion has officially declared it so? (as Adam and Eve did) When the man made laws of their state or country approve, and have received due registration fees? (as it was for Adam and Eve) ..OR.. When a man and a woman meet in a beautiful garden, ..vow and pledge their undying love to each other, and commit to faithfully espouse each other until death do they part, ...with GOD as their witness? ..(as Adam and Eve REALLY DID DO.!) GOD Himself created, officiated, and institutionalized marriage as "HOLY MATRIMONY" ..So why don't we do it God's way anymore?
@TommySpotts3 жыл бұрын
Hi Christine, I believe it is when they go through a time of proclaiming their covenant with each other and God in a ceremony. As a Christian, I believe Scripture is clear about marriage being a covenant relationship. I don't think it is as simple as two people telling each other they love each other and then moving in together. There is a time when they leave their family and begin a new family. This would be at a marriage ceremony. When we think of Mary and Joseph, we see them betrothed (engaged) to each other and abstaining from sexual relations until they were officially married through a ceremony. I think that is a good picture. I don't believe a marriage certificate defines a marriage. It is a legal document and not a spiritual proclamation. Does this help? I ran across your post today and thought I would reply. I hope I don't come across as mean. :)
@christinekovic57913 жыл бұрын
@@TommySpotts Thank you for your reply Tommy. The example you gave of Mary and Joseph was not under "normal" circumstances, because they both knew that Mary was carrying a miraculously concieved child, so it was obvious that their own personal relationship had to wait until a more appropriate time. I do very much agree that marriage is a covenant relatiinship, but as far as I know, there is no scriptural support for a "legal" cerimony to be held. I am aware that Jesus went to a wedding feast, but there is no indication that "the feast" validated the marriage in God's eyes. I believe that consumation and faithful commitment IS marriage in God's eyes ..not rings and white dresses and other paraphenalia. I believe once Adam and Eve "knew" each other that, "that" is when they became husband and wife, ...but perhaps we might have to just agree to disagree, .....and btw you didn't sound mean at all ...lol. 😊 God bless.

Biblically, Should Divorced people remarry? Someone, please answer.
@Regina-or8xk5 жыл бұрын
Yes. I just studied this two weeks ago. It is a fascinating study, especially from a historical perspective. The certificate of divorce gives you the right to remarry. What Jesus speaks about in Matthew 19:9 is translated in English as a divorce but it should actually be translated what it literally means "a putting away." Whoever divorces (puts away) his wife except for sexual immorality, and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced (put away) commits adultery. The putting away is equivalent to a separation not a legal divorce. (Apoluon). Putting away is a separate act from the divorce certificate. Many men were "putting away" their wives for trivial reasons without the certificate of divorce which placed the woman in a vulnerable and dangerous situations. Moses instituted the certificate of divorce to protect the woman only, and Jesus mentioned that because of the hardness of their hearts. The actual certificate of divorce is called the (Apostacion). The putting away with the actual certificate completes the divorce process and one is able by law to remarry again. Please remember God does hate a divorce. Divorce is destructive to the family and it devastates children. Counseling and reconciliation should always be the first option. I hope this helps. God bless you.

Marriage is until death do us part!

Janelle Allen Absolutely! Marriage until death is God’s purpose and plan; however, because of the hardness of the heart of man God allowed divorce and historically divorce was a protection for the woman. We have to truly put God in the center of marriage so that marriage continues to be sacred, holy and sustainable. God Bless You!

@@Regina-or8xk it was Moses that allowed divorce. Legally, you can get married as many time as you want but you can't legally married to 2 people at once. Biblically, you can only have one living spouse.

Janelle Allen You are correct. You can only be married to one spouse at a time hopefully until death but we both know that does not always happen.

The people have lost much love in these latter days.Apostle Paul mentioned let every man have a wife,but how easy it was in his time,but not now. Its why he was shocked by his prophetic vision of these latter days,men are lovers of themselves.Also Jesus foresaw these days in matthew24:12 Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.' People are in fear.there is less trust,less love. Jesus will return soon.

7:10 -it looks like a third of that 7:31 -it looks like 60% of that 7:43 -it looks 90% like that But gay marriage with God in the middle would look 100% like that (even though God would never marry gay men to each other) Or if the Godhead representative had a female (like the personification of wisdom that sounds a lot like the Holy Spirit) then they would look 100% alike (especially since Gen 1:27's language seems to imply that in His image God created both male AND female), but I'd have to squint REALLY hard for three men look like two men and a woman. I love the rest of the video even though the analogy falls apart when you want me to be like the LGBTQIA2S+ community and not recognize differences between a man and a woman even if it is a group of 3 men compared to two men and a woman. They are NOT the same and God agrees. I know that Hebrew words ending in -im are masculine plural, but there is only masculine and feminine plurals and there is no neutral/mixed plural. If there's a group of 9 women and 1 man and you're talking about them, you're going to end in -im because there's a man in the group even though if that man left you would use -ot for the plural. Since God has at least some masculine nature, -im is by default used even if there's anything feminine within Them for Them to model women after. If Hebrew had a neutral/mixed plural that it didn't use, I would 100% agree with you that the trinity looks more like an impossible gay marriage than an actual marriage, but in the end it's not like knowing about God's body is what saves us, so this is really more of a food for thought rather than any sort of rebuke or accusation.

Your definition of covenant is incorrect... Covenant is illegal term which is binding between parties and that is the Greek Aramaic definition. Not trying to tear your sermon apart, just stating an observation.
