God’s Son took me by complete surprise. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. Out of the 14 tracks, only three didn’t click with me, but the rest of the album is pure magic and fire. Nas delivers peak-level production, lyrics, and flows, showcasing why he’s one of the greats. Every track feels intentional, raw, and full of emotion. I’m glad I decided to react to this album-it’s easily one of my favorite Nas projects now.

A lot of nas fans have god’s son somewhere between 6-12, these days thanks to the kd series and magic series, and life is good. To me it’s around 9-11, which is crazy, but also reflects just how amazing this guys catalogue is!

I think it’s great you hold this album high, it has a lot of highs on it. Zone out, cross, and hey nas are not my faves. The singles from the album to my recollection were I can and made you look. Thugs mansion if I recall correctly was a Tupac song after he passed that nas used for the album. There are two versions on Tupac 2002 album better dayz. I think it’s wild you don’t like made you look as much, that’s a smash record homie. But as you said, you don’t think it’s a bad song. If you ever see nas live you will know when that record plays lol. Made you look has the classic sample of Apache by michael viner’s incredible bongo band. Check that out for some 🔥music too. Sample is at 1:50. Also, the made you look remix had ludacris and jadakiss. The live performance is worth a watch.

Some say zone out had a subliminal diss to Camron. When he said the line you “got a house in Virginia (hiv) the only way you sicker than us.” At those times cam lost weight & was looking much skinnier compared to when he first showed up on confessions of fire. Not to mention nas went haywire on radio and dissed hot 97 radio station, cam, nore, and host of others around this time too. He talked about the very things we been seeing far as artists. Cam had just got to rocafella. Nas aired it out that cam was vice president at the roc and Jay was overseas. And some also say that is what propelled the falling out of the roc. There were already cracks. Jay was overseas learning about the vice presidency. Beans said he told Jay about it while Jay overseas. Nas was announcing it on radio in New York. Nas mom passed and it was on.

In 2002, the most popular were jayz, Eminem, and Nelly. So yeah nas was bringing it back to streets of ny. Made you look is a street anthem record and had nas in the Bronx in front of the pun mural for the video. Also, this was the first album following stillmatic, which had ether on it. You could look at this like Kendrick gnx album. He won the battle and now the victory lap/cementing his self as the True #1. That’s also why made you look is important, because it was/is a “hit” record that people jam to.
