I think this is a culture issue, specifically American culture. I am a Muslim woman and my husband and I both work, but we don’t do 50/50 in finances, but we are equitable in how we divide the finances and household responsibilities. That means if he pays most of the bills, I do most of the household chores etc. But he also helps me in other ways. These gender wars are exhausting. If you are a just person, you will seek fairness in the way you and your spouse hold down the responsibilities - this is for both men and women. But the truth is, people are speaking in hypotheticals. If you love someone, you’ll come to an understanding with that person. But if you’re speaking about hypothetical men and women in hypothetical he-said she-said scenarios, of course there’s going to be vitriol and anger and division in the way you speak. Because you don’t have a specific person in mind. And that’s the problem. There’s too much opinions. Not enough love and compassion and genuine compatibility with someone you’re ACTUALLY talking to for marriage.

In the Quran men are allowed to have more than one, however it does state that, "one is better if you but knew." Also it says that, "men are the maintainers of women as women are the maintainers of men." What is being said by Anton is facts. Men have a role and women have a role. What Islam is she following? There's no 50/50 in Islam. Women can work but they don't have to maintain or help maintain men. Men are the maintainers and protectors of women. They are responsible for taking care of their women (their mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, etc).
