“God Save Ireland” Irish patriotic anthem

"God Save Ireland" is an Irish rebel song celebrating the Manchester Martyrs, three Fenians executed in 1867. It served as an unofficial Irish national anthem for Irish nationalists from the 1870s to the 1920s.

Lovely, I sang this in the pubs of Manchester in the seventies, slightly different words, but with a rebel heart, god bless all the brave freedom fighters past and present, Ireland will be united sooner than later 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

a lot of historic songs have the same tune liechtenstein and german empire’s anthems have the same tune as God Save the King Germany’s anthem has the same tune as the Austro-Hungarian’s anthem Bandera en alto has the same tune as nono germany’s anthem

Also, the Georgetown University has some of this tune in its fight song.
